RIP, Dave Swarbrick

Dave Swarbrick, of Fairport Convention fame has passed away:-

I saw him at Knebworth in '79 with Fairport Convention. They played for about an hour and the version of Sloth performed that day left a lasting impression on me.

I couldn't find a recording of that so here is an earlier one from 1970



Just recently I found a collection of their first 5 albums in Sainsbury's for £8, so had just re-acquainted myself with the band.

Me too - sadly not that long after Sandy Denny's death which very much coloured that event for me
