greetings

this is my first involvement in a monthly contest - posted my track yesterday (maybe, japan time difference :? ). i feel alittle 'odd/cheeky' doing so as i've barely had a presence here, but it's good for me to work so quickly and try not to lose sight of things, ending up with the usual aural mess. also been enlightened to the power of tagging and will apply it thoroughly from now on.

here are some short comments on the entries:

Donkey Tugger just masterful (that's david icke isn't it?) :D

Freeztar one more left turn and os mutantes rise again - sweet! 8)

Duncan Parsons so chorleywood west is a happy place - what's in the water? top work! :x

Woplelka i always love your stuff- the first thing ever i downloaded from Kvr was one of yours - this piece makes me think of slapp happy - unorthodox, great! :D

Mr.me great pace and structure for 2 mins, i'll be listening again closely to study your sounds - first impression was sparse yet with depth - economy is a goal of mine.

Beardedone i believe it's been mentioned elsewhwere on this thread, but wow! slicy and fillin drummer how do you do it? or do they do it for you? awesome programming.

Blue Days how bizarre, and nice. Donkey Tugger's voice in a new context for me - suddenly i'm hearing Erasure!

farluker DL'ing now...

fst i like cheese, always have, always will. i appreciate the sound of someone having fun. there's a nice 'rise' in the end section of this piece.

farluker now downloaded and listening - not disappointed! :) ... is it jaaath? who knows, but i'd never have considered the question had i not copied and pasted it into notebook to be able to read it

Bastien great rhythm! this how i hope to sound 10 years from now. another track to study closely.

i'm a salaryman, gotta go to work now :( more comments tonight (japan time).

MusicLab should give you an endorsement deal for all the times people have commented on your drums! :hihi:

wow ! what was i thinking? would i really be able to comment on every piece here? 'fraid not, i'm a family man - i own not my time. so...

i listened to everything, at least 3 or 4 times in most cases and to anyone not mentioned below, i'm simply not qualified, worthy or informed enough to comment, or i'm at a loss to think of something witty to say...so i'll restrict myself to personal tastes alone, thus keeping things 'cheerful'. :)

AndreasE love that 'burst' at 0.26 which then melts away behind the the piano. nice! 8)

TristerzaOrange can't put my finger on it, but i like it. perhaps it's the dynamics? :?:

thomasc_dk always love your stuff, i think somewhere you used the phrase 'grooving wrongly' to describe another of your pieces - funny how those words somehow seem to make sense and it's surely not a bad thing. i hope you give us more of your vocal ouevre soon. :D

siche the link works, nice piano sound too.

barnadine a quite desolate and beautiful piece. i like the 'stumble on' line esp as the song 'departs' fantastically poignent. will be checking out your other stuff in due course. :)

Thanx for the comment, nice and quick :) I'm off to listen to the rest now.. I've got a few, might just write a review me self!

RichieBee - Everybody dance! Nice stuff. I like the arrangement. Like the drum break. Don't care for the horns. Would have liked a full 2 minute version.

Yeah, the horns didn't seem to go down well. If I'd had my time back, I would have played the trumpet part myself, and all would have been okay (maybe  )

As for a 2 minute version... I'm a man of few words, and apparently few notes too.

In all seriousness though, I think it finished... it said all it wanted to say. That's why it's so short. I might think about a longer version, maybe a 12" remix. :D

Thanks plunge, I like to read these reviews...and let me know if you find some girls that can sing that? 8)
