Actually, Anderton dropped a hint about P5 in a recent thread as if some new development was on the horizon. Little of the P5 code was worked into Sonar with the Matrix view, so who knows what they are doing. But, it looks like the idea isn't as dead as it has been in the past. I'll see if I can find the thread.
What sound do dreams make when they die?

P5 hint starts at #65 in the thread:

Huh. I extensively demoed P5 back in the day, but never bought it. I just can't imagine how much effort it would take to resurrect it, or even if it's worth doing in 2017.

I was surprised to see certain people in that thread being very enthusiastic though.

There were people who loved it. I'm sure that it'll be that some of the features will be reintroduced to sonar, or maybe a separate rewire program. The bakers have said that there are things still in development that they can't talk about. Interested to see what shakes out.

Will love to see P5 re-introduced... Seems like programs that has this 'performance' feature are stuck on stupid with their development... Let's see what the company that started it all can do.

User definable grid and time sigs please. Polyrhythms and polymeters just like we could back in the early 90's like in Opcode Studio vision.

That would be Ableton.

P5 wasn't even 64bit and besides they just announced OSX support for Sonar. In order to re-introduce P5 they basically would have to rewrite it, I think. And as I already mentioned: back then there wasn't much interest in it and now there is Bitwig and Live is at V9 already so in order to catch up with these they would even have to put in a lot more effort than back in the day. How long did it take the Bitwigs to get it ready for release?

There were of course always some very vocal supporters who swore by P5, so it's no suprise that some of you would show up, ready to interpret even just a "hmmm" as a hint - it's just: you never were many enough.

Sure, because P5 is the only thinkable replacement for Orion in the whole wide world... :dog:

Replacing a host that was abandonded because it wasn't successful enough with the remake of a host that was abandoned because it was't successful enough - now that is some funny shit... :hihi:

The last two updates killed Platinum on my system.
And now I find myself asking,
"Do the 'lifetime' updates cease after it commits suicide?"
