Scaling it down would require to:
- rescale all the bitmaps in photoshop
- hand-edit the skin.ini file to change all locations and sizes

Not an overwhelming task, but still you must be careful... For instance, you can hardly see them, but all the blue lcd-like screens have "scanlines" (alternating tones of blue). When rescaled 75%, this is going to look weird, so maybe these scanlines need to be removed entirely in photoshop. Maybe rescaling down 50% would be easier (but then, maybe to small...) Aywway, I'll give it a try.

Mr. Tick - There may be a way to do this and I'm missing it, but if not here's my suggestion for your already superb synth:

User defined preset/settings folders. I'm still getting used to the new bank management system, and I like. But when I load a new bank I have to navigate back out to my bank/presets folder which is stored on a seperate drive. While I haven't saved any fx presets, patterns or custom waves, I imagine it would be the same. While I understand why Rhino wants to keep everything under one roof, I like having all my user-customized and downloaded settings/presets in a an easy-to-access folder, so I don't have to go digging around in my VST programs folder, and I can keep that lean and mean and ready for re-scanning. So I imagine an options button where the user could tell Rhino where to first look for it's banks and settings.

Just a thought.

True, currently only banks present in presets/ folder will be displayed in the right dropdown menu.

perhaps you could place a shortcut in the rhino presets folder, to your off-disk bank.

or does that defeat the purpose of having the bank "out of the way"

Ok, so I checked out the one Bank Demo :P it seemed ok, but it's not really a substitute for having the patches in the synth to play and play with. I'm not currently considering purchasing it, as I mentioned, but either way there would be absolutely no way I would buy it on the basis of word of mouth + audio demos + demo presets that didn't suite my style. I could always learn to program it, but who would want to spend the time learning to program a monster synth like this if they're not even sure they're going to own it?

Nice demos of the ambient pad bank, by the way; would be excellent for soundtracky type stuff. Not that I'm going to have the chance to do a soundtrack anytime soon (although I'd like to :D). Anyway, I'd like to seriously re-urge you (Tick) to continue with those extra presets for the demo and/or some way to load presets and/or a sweepstakes giveaway type thing :D.

So, has there been any consideration on this topic? Just want to check up on it.

I cannot speak for 'Tick, however, the patches for the 2.0 factory bank were chosen to give a nice cross section of what Rhino is capable of. Since there is no annoying noise burst or other such reminder it's a demo, if access to all the patches was given, why would anybody still pay for it?

If you're still not sure, there are plenty of mp3 demos to check out. And if that's not enough, Rhino can be found on BT's "Emotional Technology" disk.

I love my Rhino!

Daniel summed it up nicely.
