can you motivate your dislike a little? ;)

sure...

firstly, i really dislike the dancing lights all over the gui, no need for those at all

filters are not to my taste, very harsh sounding

prefer more osc, specifically not sample based

the matrix is ok, but would prefer to be able to chose my own source and dest (no pwm there at first glance)
ahh.. then you better not look in Settings module... ;) and of course there is PWM.. you need to mod the "OSC a, b, or c" destinations...look at the knobs in the OSC module.. you will see letters on the tips. don't recall which one was pulse width.. but it's there and immediately accessible.

...and i highly doubt the Osc are "modelled" on samples... check the manual for some explanation. anyway, cool. have a good one

..ps you lost me on the "choose your own...source/dest"... you do know you can click and choose each entry in the mmatrix right? even the audio signal sources....hmm, well, now you do, if you didn't before... about the first thing i do when i get a new demo of a soft is to crack open the manual. no offense, but you can learn a lot from a quick read.

that's cool Simon, but you barely entred the factory if that's all you did ;) keep the trial and see if you warm up to it. explore modulation more
6 minutes of nothingness, glad I just stepped through it in 10 seconds, I recommend the same to others
I agree, deleted, there will be better showcases.

ah ok, found that, thanks. Even so, the filters dont do it for me, so i'll still pass.

A lot of good feedback, last couple of posts, for SB to up their game. :tu:

Yes, but i still dont like the filters. Remind me of T2 stuff, metallic and harsh. Not my bag.

Come on, lets hear some stuff, or see, or both.

oh, sorry Simon, i don't post vids like that. i dont have the time or software (or desire). but when i get home from work, i'll be playing with it more. but i can discuss what i know about it from having messed with it since posting. i've already made some suggestions on SB's forum on things i'd enjoy added. have a nice day

ah, T2? who is that? tbh i guess i could sit and run a harmonic-rich signal or sine into the filter and think to myself hmmm this dosn't sound as creamy or resonate like sometthing Simper would model...but i listen to the instrument as a whole and use it in practical context,...and make a decision based on that. i mean, to me it sounds pretty damned ok.

I see, well, messing with it for 90 minutes yesterday didn't produce a single sound that wowed me in any way, so I thought you might have found a magic button somewhere or a special approach to deal with it. A good UI doesn't sound good...

Have you tried washing it with more reverb? :hihi:

Have you heard/used the reverb, nothing to wash there.

Its not about the filter in isolation (tho thats the first thing i test) ...the filter(s) will affect the instrument as a whole and in practical context. Thats kinda the point. You can do all kinds of tricks on all kinds of synths, but the filter is really the heart. If i dont like it, any amount of tricks and mods are not going to make it sound good to me. YMMV. Enjoy.
