Sounds good to me. The piece by ZioKiller and the link from YBaCuO are great. Maybe it's the MP3 compression or the layering, but I'm not hearing the negatives the detrators are citing. I'm not an expert on this stuff, but I've never thought that samples of these instruments sounded very good. The inflections in the playing is what is so interesting here.

If people spent like a couple of minutes reading the manual than the negative comments would disappear this thing is the best thing to happen to the emulation of acoustic instruments in 20 years and btw i just heard an original adante movement written for synful by an orchestral violinst and it slow and beautiful

I'm not a pro, this is my hobby, and so for me a big part of this is the money. I've been thinking about GPO for awhile now, and then Synful comes along. I've played with it, and it is lots of fun (I'm no hard core orchestra guy either), but at $497, compared with GPO's $250, I can't justify it at all. That and no percussion, piano, organ, harp, etc. and for me it's just not a smart investment.
I'm interested to see just where the technology goes, however...

for those who need convincing that the violin can be very expressive at slow tempos

The price and Pace kept me away. I got GPO and later PhilharmonIK and between the two I'm good to go. These two libraries have different "colors" - GPO is kinda neutral and PhilharmonIK is "lyrical". Since I have Kontakt2 I have thought about Kirk Hunter Sapphire ($99), I'm told this has more "Hollywood" feel.
MusiciansFriend had good prices on GPO and Philharmonik (Classic, crossgrade and full) right now.

Is this product still being updated?
They still sell it, but latest update was like 5 years ago, is it 64 bit or only 32 bit?

i always appreciate the solo violin on synful : expressive in some ways like no current sample library can rival...
...perhaps sample modeling in a near future ?

I was surprised something this old sounds as good as it does, especially the solo strings. And then I saw the price...$479.Numanoid wrote:Is this product still being updated?

Yes, it better sound that good for that kind of money.
However, look at the system specs.
MAC OSX Universal Binary and Windows XP/Vista 32/64 Compatible.
Nothing about Windows 7. So who knows if it will even work.
Shame, because it does sound good.
