Ultrabeat retina when? :P
I can't wait till Ultrabeat, ES2 and Exs24 get a GUI update. Awesome instruments but man they look ugly and can be annoying to use (Ultrabeat and ES2 in particular).

Post

Still not sure which plugins did get an update this time round.

Tbh I'm still on logic 9. Can anyone verify if they are able to open projects created in logic 5 with logic x?

Post

If not, hopefully you can install Logic X alongside Logic 9

Of course you can, I have all version since 7 installed (apart from 8 which was crap).

So your girl/wife decides one day to get new clothes, haircut and color, darkens skin tan, goes all out on makeup and suddenly she demands you to treat her differently, take her out on more expensive places and etc, but things you expected she will change, she didn't, but yeah, here's break up/divorce if you don't settle with that.

That's Logic X for me, I never wanted that change in her nor do I have the need or money to support her and on top of that, all that fixing is beyond unnecessary for me.

Yes, she changed enough for me to not look her the same way, she looks and feels now different and she is really expensive to maintain with all that, but in case of Logic 9, I will stay on 9 and 10.6.8 as much as I can and that's it.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

Thanks Simon. Do you know what the version of 7 is that will run on Intel? I have logic 7 installers but none of them will run on my Intel MacBook. I've been told it takes a couple different installers to get it to work properly. Does logic 7 even still work on El Capitan?

I personally miss the GUI of logic 7, which a lot of people think is a clusterf*** but it seemed easier to configure quickly for me and didn't look as garagebandy as logic 10 does.

Logic 7.2 was the first Intel version and it can open old Logic projects since version 2, that way I rescued many projects from the 1990s (sequencer data only, no audio back then).

Nice poetry, but things have changed in the guts not only on the surface, all these new features and bugfixes are helping musicians and sound designers to produce better results, I don't care about hair styles and Gucci shoes at all.

Why, there's people loving every other non-perfect DAW too, it just happens Logic is closest to delivering workflow many people seek in a DAW. :tu:
I love it when unwitting shills get all offended. :hihi:

It changed enough for me to not feel comfortable using it or plan the future on it, I'm not the one having hard time to understand what personal preference means here, if X and new OS X works for you, awesome, it doesn't for me. :tu:

Apples software is excellent... Here and there they do some stupid stuff but overall, Apple makes productive software.

Logic is far and away the best bang for the buck in the DAW world.
