Yeah, sorry, that was an oversight that hadn't been caught... I'm afraid we'll have to live with it (or, hehehe, get the full one when it's ready, but I swear this wasn't intended)suthnear wrote:This is a small and somewhat annoying bug in a plug-in that is otherwise perfectly usable. But, yeah...AnX wrote:Its a research plugin, no point posting bugs really....? Its moved on a lot since this was 'released'
Repro-1 (out now)

Definitely... This synth is going to be a monstrous beast!
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

I like 2 & 4 the most.
2 has the nicer tone to my ears. Everything seemed more colourful in a nice way, and spunky.
4 had higher frequency, less rolloff and probably more 'analogue'
I really hope 2 is available in the final version.....

Does it even matter what people hear who don't even know the original? I mean, when you model that specific SCI hardware, you probably have it there in your office. So do identical sweeps, modulations and what not again and again, compare them and change the code until you hear and see no difference anymore

That costs cpu. My guess they are trying to cut as many edges off as they can before they get started on the mod matrix. A Dave Smith mod matrix is extensive and will be cpu heavy to do right. I get the impression Urs is experimenting with different configurations and seeing what he can get away with. You can make these things as high quality as you want, right up until they are no longer useful. So how far do you want to go with it is the question.

Actually, we got the self-PWM of Osc B right now. Main problem is the self-FM in conjunction with self-PWM. This yields noise in extreme settings, but I think we have a solution for that.
We're btw trying to not cut corners wherever we can. Focus on cutting corners is what yields lame software. Sometimes one has to, but whenever possible one shouldn't.
The Mod Matrix of the Prophet 5/T8/600 whatsoever is a piece of cake in comparison. It's really just the Pro-One that has these extraordinary capabilities - which pose a vast challenge in software.

I'm interesting in seeing how this new approach you are working on turns out. I'm sure you will push things farther than they have gone before like always. Seems like you have all the smaller discrete equations worked out from previous experience and are now working on larger concepts (micro vs macro). I don't fully understand it all on a micro level but seems like you are taking a more macro approach this time. Just my impression. Good luck!

1 and 4 are smooth and harmonic in some cases. and less sharp ear killer noises during extreme settings.
but i guess 3 is the cpu hungy thing and 1 is the draft quality (cause in the most cases it produces metallic noises)

Reinstalled RePro alpha on Win 10 FL STudio 12.3 64 bit
Just being idle it uses 43% CPU
Playing with it doesn't add any CPU hit

Do you have an expected deadline for the final version or it is still unknown?Urs wrote:Final version will use muuuuch lessNumanoid wrote:Just being idle it uses 43% CPU

We still have high hopes for a release this year. It is excessively more difficult to model than a Minimoog.ATN69 wrote:Do you have an expected deadline for the final version or it is still unknown?Urs wrote:Final version will use muuuuch lessNumanoid wrote:Just being idle it uses 43% CPU

Looks like a PCB mock up.
