Thank you.
Would you share what you were told, so as to give "us" a better idea of the requirements?

As it stands, it appears to require a wav, with 33 (single) cycles of 2048 each, with a low pass filtering out (anti-aliasing) half the sampling rate. If you want to use "wave control" you simply 'stitch' two or more of these "33-cycle wavs" together.

I could be wrong, but that is how I read it. I don't have the demo yet, so I haven't analyzed an example.

I like what I have seen and heard of this synth, and love SB's stuff in general (including Cyclops), but would also desire to make/load my own wavetables, and very much see that difficulty, as an hopefully remediable oversight. [2c]
I'll post the relevant parts tomorrow. Honestly, it wasn't specific at all, which is why I'm coming back here.

I don't want to say more because I don't want to be accused of ragging on the company. I'm trying to keep this civil and professional.

Alright I demoed this.

I got the same feeling I get when I go into a Novelty shop full of knick nacks. You know you see all these cool and fun things, but once you mess with them the feeling kind of subsides and you move on to other things. Maybe I'm just spoiled for choice with all my other tools, but I'm just not getting the vibe from this thing or any of what Sugar Bytes has to offer.

Question:

Is there a Reaktor ensemble that anybody knows about that creates wavetables?

Also, is there anybody here who thinks they can create an editor that can create WTs for Factory.

Thank you.
Hi wagtunes, this might be a long shot, but I'd recommend trying to contact the author of Audio-Term - a wavetable editor for Komplexer (the waldorfish, old, but still quite awesome almost abandonware). Apparently his program works for other synths, too. There's an entire thread on it here:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... &start=345
username of the dev is blacktomcat666, there's also a youtube channel with demos.
At the very least he knows his way around wt very well & maybe he can give you pointers.

I haven't used his audio term software yet because Komplexer is 32-bit only...but I just realized it works beautifully when bridged in Reaper, so I'll check it out in the next days - feedback on the program has always been very good, here & on gearslutz.

Cheers & please let us know what you find out!

How did you calculate this?

I actually have Audio Term and use it. Haven't tried making a WT in it for this yet because I don't understand what they mean by 33 and 2048. I don't see any way of designating this in Audio Term.

I'd love to share the email I got but I won't.

Let's just say it was extremely frustrating and soured me on the company quite a bit.

I'll leave it at that.

Moog Saw "2048 samples".

Okay, here's what I did.

I took out Audio Term and created a WT with 33 slices and 2048 cycles per slice. I then imported it into Factory.

The WT plays but with the most unusual results.

Each note (c3, d3, e3, etc) plays a different slice in the table and the wave knob doesn't cycle through the table at all.

So I'm kind of close (at least it plays) but obviously saving in Serum format doesn't work. There are other formats I could try, but I'd just be guessing.

Oh, and I looked through the email again. There are no relevant parts to post. Essentially it just said it was too hard to do and they couldn't give me the software to do it and that maybe somebody here would design something.

If the "wave knob" is what SB called "wave control", then you just need to stitch (add to the file you have, without a space) another file with 33 slices.

And exactly how do I do that? Audio Term only has the capability to create 33 slice files. I can't just tack another one at the end.

Use an audio editor e.g. Soundforge, Wavelab, audacity, etc.

So if I want to have a wavetable file with 32 distinct wavepoints I have to stick 32 of these things end to end?

Precisely. Although, again, I've not looked at their WT's yet, and can't say for certain that one with (specifically) 32 'wavepoints', would work. SB mentioned a page ago, the addition of another 33, if you wanted to use the "wave control". I'd start there, and keep adding more, until you find its limit. [2c]

I guess I'll start with 2 to see if there's any change between them.

Some of the parameters like delay times and frequencies of things would be nice if they could be seen and adjusted to specific values.

I've purchased it & 110% agree on these 2 points.
It really needs some numeric feedback so you know where you're at.
