Yeah, there are some differences for sure. The P900 LFO is also a little bit too fast and in the last example it's more obvious that the filter/envelope is a bit off relative the JP8, which is more open. It's a fun exercise though! There's also a patch included in the factory presets that has that Roland Promars sound, or at least as I hear it.mcbpete wrote:That's really good - The *only* difference I can tell between the two is the JP8 sounds like it has a slight flange sound on the decay (There's a slight falling then rising harmonic most noticable at 0:28 - 0:30, compared to the note just decaying on the P900 at 0:20 - 0:22)pulsarmodular wrote:Here's a bit of fun. Thanks! I did actually but I think it got buried in a new products thread. I'd like to do a bigger patch shootout also with a Minimoog at some point.soma1985 wrote:Sounds amazing. Is there a way to save and load presets aside of the factory bank?
Could not look for it anymore because my demo time is off, lost it with the hassle to get the plugin working, layer on and off and so on in my hosts.

The plugin supports standard AU presets. The host should provide a way to load those so I haven't added any other. In Numerology, it looks like you have "Load" and "Save" in the audio unit window. It tried that out in my demo version of Numerology but loading didn't work, unfortunately. Unless that's a demo limitation I will need to debug it and see what's going on. Preset load/save works fine in many other hosts.jowen wrote:Is there a way to save and load presets aside of the factory bank?

Actually, it does work. Seems you have to have the plugin window closed, then it works fine to load any preset.

That's like saying because I have a step sequencer plugin I don't need one in my modular rack. Or any modules.

Not read the whole thread but is there plan to add analog style 16x Step Sequencer ?
No need for a Step Sequencer, if you use Numerology 4!

I do have plans for sequencers. I just can't say much about it right now.

Yes, this combination is absolutly great!
to topaz:
Please try Numerology 4 and see how step sequencing is today working with soft and hardware.

Really could do with a fixed filter bank and frequency shifter.
Trying to do some patch building today but it keeps crashing on inserting modules - not been able to get anything done this way.

yeah the 907A would be a welcome additionaMUSEd wrote:Really could do with a fixed filter bank and frequency shifter.
have you got a way to reproduce this?Trying to do some patch building today but it keeps crashing on inserting modules - not been able to get anything done this way.
Im finding it very stable, though I'm using 10.11 (LPX and Live 9.6), perhaps an issue with the earlier OSX versions. Its worth dropping an email to info AT pulsarmodular.com if you can reproduce, they have been super quick at resolving issues I found in the beginning.
btw: I reported an issue with P900 and vienna ensemble pro 5, VSL had reproduced and said the next version of VEP5 has the issue fixed
(Ive reported another issue with Max to Cycling 79, but as yet had no response)

Reproduced it so many times I gave up for now - sent a bunch of crashlogs to the developer. It's crashing just trying to load a new module or eject one - happening for me in LPX (latest update) every few attempts to add a module.

I thought I might get round this crashing by running it in Reaper sandboxed but for some reason it runs as unregistered when I try and run it using Reaper's sandboxing.
That suggests the license needs an internet connection even when registered which is unacceptable.

First of all congrats for this fine piece of software. Sounds very good, highly educative for me as modular newbie and fun to play with.
Secondly +1 for sequencer module (would be nice).
Last not least: is there a possibilty to drag and drop installed modules within the rack (would be helpful to adjust existing patches when new ideas coming along)?

MIDI clock and sequencer modules are coming....soon. Gate/trigger sequencers will arrive later.

Apologies to aMused who has to deal with P900 instability on OS X Yosemite. I will need to jump on that before finishing the sequencer update, as its taking longer than I thought. It's up and running but still plenty of details to finish up.
