Custom Bank Folder now in Factory Bank menu item Window10

Hi, as of sylenth 3, both on mac and pc, I was pleased to have in my menu a drop down for factory banks and a separate folder for custom banks.
The last two windows updates however (3.23 and 3.24 I believe they are called) has now put the custom bank folder as a submenu in the Factory Bank Menu Items, and if one then uses the load button it also creates a custom bank separate item in the menu in its original place so you end up with two menu items for custom. The Mac Version is fine.



This is windows 10 64 bit in Nuendo.

Hi,

It seems to me you have created the Custom folder yourself inside the Soundbanks folder.

Sylenth1 will search in the Soundbanks folder for fxb files and display them under the Factory menu. Since v3.022 it'll also search any subfolders in the Soundbanks folder and display them as well (this is why you now see your own Custom folder inside the Factory menu). The reason for this is that you can now split up your soundbanks in subfolders, which makes browsing and loading your favorite banks a lot easier.

The Custom menu by default shows soundbanks from the folder you last selected via MENU -> Bank -> Load. You can change its behavior in the Settings.xml file (to get there, click MENU -> Open Data Folder to get to the data folder, then open the Config folder). Open the file with notepad for example, and you'll find a setting for the soundbank folder:

<SoundBankFolder remember="2" path="D:\SoundBanks"/>

The remember option can have the following values:

0 – don’t remember, but always use the SoundBankFolder in the settings.xml file as your Custom folder.
1 – use the SoundBankFolder as default at startup, then remember the folder changes whenever you load a bank from another folder. Remember changes as long as Sylenth1 is running.
2 – always remember the last picked folder, even after Sylenth1 is closed.

So you can use it to set a personal Custom folder outside of Sylenth1's data folder (although it is recommended to put all your soundbanks in Sylenth1 SoundBanks folder, for easier access).

Is it now though that the mac and pc behaviour are different? I don't recall actually creating the Custom Folder itself, I think v3 did, both on mac and pc.

On Mac the latest version is still v3.020, which will be updated soon too. The only difference is that the new version includes subdirectories in the SoundBanks folder.

Sylenth1 does not create a Custom folder inside the SoundBanks folder by itself. Seeing that it contains your own custom soundbanks, I'm pretty sure you created this yourself.

i thought when 3 came out if one loads a bank manually, it then created a custom folder and puts all the ones you load there, as it does now.....I would never have chosen the name Custom
