Not sure how to search that sort of EQ. Maybe you know a decent one.
Would like to have similar EQing you might find on a typical board channel slot. Each band knob able to sweep as well as peak and shelf.

Thanks.

Layout is different, but feature set is very console-like with saturation. Superb quality.

Maybe just what i'm looking for Jon. :)
Setting the low and high bandwidth freq for each mixer channel EQ insert, then assigning the EQ gains to HW controller knobs makes general mix EQing a breeze. (no need to bother with parametric)
I can do this with my ADAT to a HW mixer EQ, but I'm mostly to lazy to go ADAT/analog and deal with wires and the whole equipment rack.

Thanks Jon.
EDIT - I went with the free version...just the EQ section. With this sort of EQ you don't need to see it, just hear it. :phones:

Thanks phaded. Want to test this out too!
Get upper and lower mid on this one. Those mid bands overlap quite a bit, wonder why they designed it like that?

The big choices usually, but not always, come down to Neve, API and SSL.

The only companies I know personally that do all 3 are Waves and IK. However, there may be others.

You might want to take wait for a decent sale too.

The freebie/full version of SonEQ will take you a long way too. I need to dust that off. Lo band is Pultec-style and done quite well imo.

Thanks for the link phaded! Going to try these EQs out tomorrow.
The Pultec 'boost/attenuate' controls seems odd to me. Sonimus claims some useful interaction, but they are hardly specific about it. As a VST, i`m sure Sonimus could have used a single control, but as keeping with the Pultec's original analog electronics design feature it may have set it apart from the competition. Anxious to see the interaction (if any) on an analyzer.
Still very happy to have it for free. :hail:

Dust Equalizer is a pretty damn good channel eq. And it's free.

The sonimus sounds badass especially the mids. My favourite eq for basslines.

If you don't mind some big software installation thingy (Custom Shop) you should try out the IKM Classic Eq which is based on a Calrec PQ1549. Pretty good Eq as well for free.
