It's a bit of a faff but you have to get demo iLok licences for Modular, Heartbeat, and the 3 other modules, individually, and make sure you have installed them all too.

for me, the one thing, is it seems like a investment into softube modular, and as more modules are released, you are increasingly 'locked' into it - I don't see an issue, if they continue to release lots of good quality modules, with a wide range of choice to pick and choose from, but once the initial excitement dies down, how do we know there will be more manufactures/modules released regularly?

It's the most successful product release we've seen at JRR Shop this year. My guess is every new module release will be equally successful and that Softube is going to make the Modular line be their primary focus from now on.

Main issue for me with Reaktor blocks is polyphony, you have to create each voice manually.

That's a massive difference right there.

As far as i know, yes. If you don't own Heartbeat, the associated modules in Modular will be grayed out and (obviously) not possible to choose (based on a video I just watched).

They really need to add better preset support, in reaktor each module can have its own presets within an ensemble and they can be pretty easily sequenced for any duration using something like snapper.

A browser similar to the U-HE ones would be fine, with space for a few notes as you cantlabel the modules themselves.

I've recently developed a serious addiction to my modular hardware setup. I'm very curious to see if total recall can compete with hand-on patching - and vice versa.

I think there will always be a group of people who enjoy making sounds hands-on and/or who do not depend on instant recall (sound designers or sample creators, for example). However, I think most people doing production work will prefer having instant recall.

Question: Are Intellijel modules limited to Corgasmatron, Rubycon and uFold? Will Metropolis be availble as well?

After the success of these first modules, I wouldn't be surprised if every Intellijel module is eventually released.

I'm all for a tips and tricks thread. Modulars really don't intimidate me. Been around them since before there was an Internet. What always drives me crazy with the virtual stuff (not a problem with real hardware) is how each software maker has a different way of "connecting" the modules and you have to, in many cases, read the manual to find out what method they use. MUX, KarmaFX, Softube, they're all different. Standardization would be nice but I realize that's too much to ask for.
