Please don't do that. Intentional or not, it signals a basic disrespect for transgenedered people, including the very one you claimed to idolize.

Wendy Carlos is Wendy Carlos. If she wanted to be "Wendy (Walter)" she would have had her name changed to "Wendy (Walter)." And unless she has ever asked to be referred to using an awkward dual set of pronouns, just use "her."

There's really no need for real or feigned confusion about peoples' clearly declared gender.
Hey lighten up man. I have nothing but the utmost respect for her. So stop trying to stir up a tempest in a tea pot which is so damn common around here I'm getting sick of it.

Sheeesh.
I'ma have side with @foosnark on this one. :tu:
Don't be silly guys. Wagtunes clearly did not mean to cause offence.
Thank you. In fact, my whatever was just that. Don't care one way or another. Doesn't alter my love for her music and what she meant to me growing up. In fact, a good number of people here weren't even alive when I was digging her stuff.

It's no wonder I hate this place sometimes.

This is exactly why I don't use forums much, a discussion on a new bit of gear turns into 4 separate arguments over iloks, gender labeling and who or who not should take offense to what. :P

No need to bring this up... Lets just talk about Softube please.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

You know if I really wanted to start a shit storm, I'd come in here and talk about what an ass hole Donald Trump is. But I don't do that because I don't want to start a shit storm.

Now for the love of God can we PLEASE, just for once, keep the conversation on Softube Modular?

Thank you.

Now, I have a question.

I am noticing that some of the modules are grayed out, not available. If I hover over them it says "Get Demo."

Do I have to get another ilok demo license for these too?

It's a bit of a faff but you have to get demo iLok licences for Modular, Heartbeat, and the 3 other modules, individually, and make sure you have installed them all too.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Wonderful. All right. Whatever. sigh.

I assume that Heartbeat can be integrated with Modular, like a sequencer, correct?

It's the most successful product release we've seen at JRR Shop this year. My guess is every new module release will be equally successful and that Softube is going to make the Modular line be their primary focus from now on.

That's a massive difference right there.

As far as i know, yes. If you don't own Heartbeat, the associated modules in Modular will be grayed out and (obviously) not possible to choose (based on a video I just watched).

They really need to add better preset support, in reaktor each module can have its own presets within an ensemble and they can be pretty easily sequenced for any duration using something like snapper.

A browser similar to the U-HE ones would be fine, with space for a few notes as you cantlabel the modules themselves.

Finally, we agree on something ;)

Local bathroom political action committee.

Forums will always be a giant shizt show. Like a car wreck you can't stop looking at.

Maybe we should start a separate thread for tips and tricks for Softube Modular? No discussion, just the good stuff. There is a steep learning curve, and we could all probably benefit.

I think there will always be a group of people who enjoy making sounds hands-on and/or who do not depend on instant recall (sound designers or sample creators, for example). However, I think most people doing production work will prefer having instant recall.
Question: Are Intellijel modules limited to Corgasmatron, Rubycon and uFold? Will Metropolis be availble as well?
After the success of these first modules, I wouldn't be surprised if every Intellijel module is eventually released.

I'm all for a tips and tricks thread. Modulars really don't intimidate me. Been around them since before there was an Internet. What always drives me crazy with the virtual stuff (not a problem with real hardware) is how each software maker has a different way of "connecting" the modules and you have to, in many cases, read the manual to find out what method they use. MUX, KarmaFX, Softube, they're all different. Standardization would be nice but I realize that's too much to ask for.
