I think it's the dog's bollocks, maybe Softube dried and crushed some up and sprinkled on the code.I already have Heartbeat which adds to the fun, bought the other modules, it really is quite stunning what you can do.I personally really don't mind the cabling hiding/highlighting style, its efficient and non messy, but get that others may like other options like drop downs and danglers (which I would also prefer at times) for persistent visual cues of routing (although the I/O's are always highlighted).Maybe these cabling/connection options may happen.

I have had the odd crash but have been running up to 3 fairly complex instances at very low 64 samples without issue, it is really quite sick and inspiring to experience the considerable timbral, harmonic and visceral heft that Modular can pump out.I really miss my hardware modular which I gave up years ago but this is as close as I'll likely get back to an open playground so to speak. So for me this is just fantastic to have been made.A real delight.

I like the cable management too..
have you noticed how 'clever' the colouring is, basically it tries to keep a modules inlets and outlets the same colour (e.g. all inlets blue, outlets pink)... then with some logic to resolve where this cannot happen. (e.g. inlets get priority).

also the 2 views of cables, e.g. hover over a module to see all its connected modules, but click a wire inlet, and it not only highlights the wire in green. but it tracks it back to the outlet, and then highlights the wires from that module

a couple of minor changes id like:
a) wires to be reduced a little in thickness, (by 50%?)
b) ability to colour wires yourself, useful if you want to (for example) trace a signal path.
c) wire highlighting, when you click on a outlet, id like to to only highlight the cables going from that outlet, not the whole module.

someone mentioned heartbeat, and was it worth it... I bought as i don't have any dedicated drum synths, and its nice to use with the sequencers in modular. I do wish however, they had also added the reverb/echo/compressor and saturator from it... to give us some more effects.... perhaps they will do in the future (I guess they need a UI update for this).
its not like I'm lacking FX Vsts etc, but would be nice to have ones that could be modulated with CVs.

Is there a quick way to delete a wire? I keep wishing the patch add/removal process was more like ACE/Bazille.

I personally want more user defined options for the cables (again like u-he).

Also I came quickly to the same thought that I wish there were more effects, but something tells me that they'll be added soon enough. I'm also guessing that owners of some of the standalone effects might get the modules free the same way Heartbeat owners received them.

That would be nice. Scope Modular has a good system where you can choose your own color and then choose to show only specific color cables.

I'd like to hide the 2 & 3 stage of rack and keep only the performance rack that i have assign to module.

yeah, I was surprised this wasn't how it work... more like the presentation views in Max/Reaktor.

conversely, I don't want to see the performance elements, when Im patching. (like Reaktor, 2 views), but that would possibly be a big change, since this is how you setup the performance racks.
perhaps have 3 views = patch only, performance only, patch + performance.

No dice. Ping and tracert both return, so this is odd that some are able to download with no issues and others can't.
It appears it was something to do with either Comcast or Comcast wireless. I finally turned off wireless on my phone of all things and was able to download that way. Comcast or Comcast wireless must have some buried setting not to download exes that big, although I've downloaded plenty of monster exes in the past.

So, if you're having issues getting the 404 or page not found, try changing your Internet connection...

Thanks for the tip!! downloading now on the smartphone!

Jeez softube, maybe zip the file next time!
I'm not going to download anything to my smartphone, or jump through any other stupid hoops to demo a product. Dealing with iLok is enough. Sorry Softube. You evidently don't want my business. Considering they didn't expose parameters for automation, it's probably for the best.

of course, parameters are exposed for automation... as soon as you add a modules, all the 'knobs' are automatable. why do you think they aren't? (probably best to download the demo to check these things out ;) )

Oh. Bad forum info on Gearslutz? Still, can't download it even if I owned it. Has anyone zipped it up and put it on a share site?

Id written them and created a support ticket about it. They sent me dropbox links to the file(s) which I never used since I'd gotten it on my phone. Unfortunately, I've deleted the emails with the links, but if you really want to demo it you can contact support.

And the issue is likely as much to do with your ISP as Softube, so don't necessarily put all the blame on them.

Automation works totally flawless here. Especially the proper VST3 programming gives at least all Cubase users the possibility to create/show automation lanes directly from every knob/button via right click.

My last iLok post.

Hell just froze over and cows learned how to fly. I downloaded modular demo and there by... iLok.

After all this time spent hating iLok, it seems that it's time to love. Love softube modular. It's that great :tu:

Post

I don't care much about ILok or not simply because i have two iLok dongles working since years without any problems (100+ licenses on it). Anyway, Softube have a run: So inspiring lately.. first Console1 now Modular. Wow..
