Very cool, keep us up to date.bayouland wrote:Update on the OBXD dedicated MIDI controller: My printer's CNC is down, that's why there has been a delay. He assures me that the panel and case will be done some time next week. We shall see. I'd go to another printer , but he's my brother-in-law, so the prices I'm getting really are the Brother-in-law deal.

So.... 2Dat is real gone?... who is behind soshistudio? and where's the sourcecode for the version 1.2?
BTW, i tested it with a patch from KVR users collection.. Huckleberry Finn (Tom Saywer growl sound)... and doesn't sound exactly the same on the new version, a minor difference in the envelope, I think.

The official Obxd page still points to the original Github repository. If you go to the Soshi Studio page it has a link to the source used by them.waltercruz wrote:So.... 2Dat is real gone?... who is behind soshistudio? and where's the sourcecode for the version 1.2?

I had a quick look and it appears to be the based off the orbitfold fork on Github which is missing all the changes after February 20th 2014. That could explain the sound differences.
According to the readme in the new version you can change the skin by moving some files to the user documents folder but I don't see anything in the source code provided by Soshi Studio that would handle this. I find this a little fishy, but could just be an honest mistake.

Yes. When I got my proof, some of the controls were out of place, so it's back to the graphics guy at the print shop. I don't understand why it's so difficult to get this right. I'll keep you posted.

I notice the link to the soshistudio build has now been removed from the original obxd.wordpress.com site, has anything happened or am I reading too much into it ?!

Um, it's still there... it's simply called "Donate" now, and you're taken to the site where you can buy OB-Xd. WTH?mcbpete wrote:I notice the link to the soshistudio build has now been removed from the original obxd.wordpress.com site, has anything happened or am I reading too much into it ?!

Wait, so the one that donated to has a worse audio engine than the free one ?!Dozius wrote:waltercruz wrote:I had a quick look and it appears to be the based off the orbitfold fork on Github which is missing all the changes after February 20th 2014. That could explain the sound differences.

Well, i'm totally consued now... the OB-Xd 1.2 version from the obxd.wordpess.com site seems to be from Soshi Studio?? It says so in the ReadMe, and there's also additional skins included, which also change the layout of the synth. So is that the new version with the different sound engine now, or is that the original version from 2DaT? I also still have a zip file here, called obxd.zip, i believe from a Beat mag DVD. Actually that seems to be the original version, because it still has the old skin. Right?

What's the diff between v1.2 and previous versions? Does it affect the sound? Cannot find a changelog. Thanks!
