Vangelis Spanakakis (the owner of planet record studio http://www.planetrec.eu/ (http://www.planetrec.eu/)), has created a free vst clone of this synth. I haven´t had enought time to test it, so reviews by other users, are welcome.https://www.dropbox.com/s/slnzosusnz920 ... 0.dll?dl=0 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/slnzosusnz9204s/SX-240.dll?dl=0)

I know Vangelis Spanakakis for some time past....
- he´s a great greek musician and a synthedit-developer too.
Unfortunately all his old and interesting plugins are sadly unavailable ....
It´s a shame threads like this and new (32-bit) plugins from other good dev´s are to be ignored these days.
Most people here are kids, does making only EDM, are fluffly people or just 64-bit maniacs...
The original Kawai SX-240 I only know from old music-magazines like "Fachblatt", "Keyboards"
in my later youth. Never played one, but listened to a few youtube-vids with their bad sound.
The GUI is based on the original synth, but soundwise not a 100% true emulation - but with
meticulously programming you can create sounds that are very similar. So the factory sounds
doesn´t reflect the hardware SX-240, but you can create sounds that are unique and
almost like the original - i like it and I am happy with that....

That´s fantastic - so your view at first hand.
I could only compare it´s sound with some youtube videos - so as a one-time owner you can tell...
Very nice to have an equal replacement. Now I will have to scrutinise..... thanks

Nice to see that this particular VST put you on the keyboard!

Haha, yep I read the new releases each day and that's it. I think this one came up in a google alert. It had occurred to me before that no-one had had a crack at emulating the SX-240, so to see this was pretty great. I will endeavour to post again by 2019.

Never had an SX-240, so I don't know how this compares to the real thing, but I like the sound of it very much.
Thanks to Vangelis for making it, and to durion6 for posting it up.

Is this a Windows-only VST? I haven't been able to make it work on my Mac. I have a real SX-240 and I would love to play with this emulation! Thanks.

Most people that actually hang out here are older and don't make EDM, about 64 bit thing, you are right on that one.Schiffbauer wrote: Most people here are kids, does making only EDM, are fluffly people or just 64-bit maniacs...
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? ShawnG

Thank you all for the kind words. I see myself as a newbie on developing VST synths, so if you see any bugs concerning the SX-240 Vst, please tell.
Thank you Durion6 for posting.
