kx drivers and MIDI

I downloaded the kx drivers tonight hoping to get some better MIDI sound from my Audigy 2. What do I need to tweak this?
My current host, Anvil (I will be purchasing probably Cubase SE in the next week or so) recognizes the kx sound cards now, but no MIDI banks or soundcards, and will not play any MIDI file through the soundcard. When I test the card, no sound is heard.
When I just play the MIDI files through the Creative Audio player now, I do hear the file, though it is harsh and drops tracks all over the place, as if I exceeded the polyphony although it is not that intense a file.
This is all new to me, so if possible keep the explanations simple! I just want to get a decent MIDI quality sound.
Thanks!
Mark

Any ideas? Sorry to be a pain, but I am trying to set up a modest home system and want to see if the kx drivers make a difference in my sound quality.
Thanks, everyone.

Click 'f" (on the left), then "+" and load a GM sf2.
Can find some here http://www.hammersound.net/cgi-bin/soun ... tLength=15
I think thats what you want.

I have loaded in a soundfont, into the kx mixer. When I go to set up my out port in Anvil, however, it recognizes what it calls the kx card or synth, but then has no sound banks associated with the card. However, Anvil will still play when I switch the output to my hardware sound module.
And when I ran the MIDI through a regular player, it just came out harsh and dropping a lot of notes.
Is it because I am only using the free demo of Anvil possibly? Or are there parameters on the mixer that I need to set?
Thanks in advance for your response!

I cant help regarding Anvil, sorry.
"kx synth" and "kx synth 2" should work.
Of course you have to chose those as output in your sequencer.
It has no way to know if sounds are loaded within the card (thru kx, right ?)
You also have to check midi synth volume on kx ("master" section (=1st page)).
There are no other things to set in kx regarding midi, afaik.

I dont get it. The sequencer just sends midi out data, basically.but then has no sound banks associated with the card
