You could try hunting around for an offline reader, you could also use the save feature with IE6 to save pages and all images etc. if the site is not too large.MacN wrote:Can I download my website from the internet cause i have lost the original version from my hard drive

Yes.
In IE just use "File > Save as".
Mind you, only works for one site. In case you have a deep folder structure, you might need a program such as Teleport Pro or so, which will grab the complete content of a site (up to a user definable link depth).
The easiest way however would be to simply grab it through some FTP program, but as you asked at all I suspected you had no FTP access.

Why not log in via FTP and download it?
If not let me know and I will do it for you PM me.
Or if you cannot do the FTP I can still map it and pop it in a zip and send it over to ya!
Also you can use programs like this for downloading websites for offline viewing.

If you can't ftp, get wget and type from a command prompt
it should get your whole site (or at least anything that is accessible via links)
Code: Select all
wget -m http://www.dan-island.co.uk/-

Tried that some months ago, when I was looking for a GNU-C(++) compiler.farlukar wrote:Heh, check out cygwin then, it has all the nifty unix toolstetraplan wrote:Didn't know a windows version existed.

It's fscking huge! (1)
But nice to have a windows equivalent (2) of OSX's X11 environment.

(1) got Mingw instead and saved me some 120+ MB of space. Download took forever, too.
(2) sorta.

Unfortunately, its massive these days. Last 'default' install I did pulled down 300Mb of stuff.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."
