Hi everyone. I am totally new to this cool world of sampling. I recently just downloaded two different samplers. One is called TAL Sampler and the other is called Renoise Redux. I want to be able to mess with the sample in one of these plugins, and then record it as a loop on to my DAW (Reaper) as an audio file or a midi file. However, I do not know how to do this. Maybe there is another way of going about doing what I want to do all-together. This is probably something very basic. Can anyone give me some tips? I hope I have been specific enough and have provided enough detail. Again, I am trying to take a sound, put some effects on it, and record it as a loop in my DAW. Any help would be much appreciated! I cant help wondering why you would buy two samplers when you don't know how to use one ... or do you mean the demos? Anyway, you can make a loop in any DAW or WAV editor, including Reaper, without a sampler.

Recording the loop in a DAW has nothing to do with the specific instrument you use. Just record it as any other audio or MIDI clip.

Don't know Reaper, can't be any more specific. RTFM.

Most DAWs that I'm aware of will let you loop a section of audio; you shouldn't need a sampler to do this. Here's a video showing it being done in Reaper with audio; I'm not sure how to convert audio to midi in Reaper. This technique should work no matter what style of music you're doing.

Yes they are the demos.

The thing is is that there are effects and modulations on the sampler that I don't know I can achieve without the sampler. If I just record into the DAW and loop a track, I cannot achieve these effects and modulations. That is my biggest problem. I will check out some of the searches that you suggested

Once you'v got some audio files
(either recorded by you with your DAW or from somewhere else),
you must bring them within your sampler (usually involving some keymapping).
Then, you'll be able to modulate/mangle/loop/slice...
wathever your sampler of choice will permit.

Let's keep it simple:

1) Insert sampler in new channel track
2) Load sample into the sampler
3) Make MIDI clip for that channel track (1 or few bars long)
4) Edit MIDI clip/enter piano roll editor and enter the notes to trigger the sample from sampler
5) Duplicate MIDI clip few times to have something playing longer on time line
6) Make selection of whole duplicated MIDI clip and set it to loop/cycle (start playing from the beginning when selection ends)
7) Automate sampler parameters you want to manipulate using automation/envelopes.

All this sounds easy and all, but it's not and guess you will have to learn Reaper to know how to do this basic things, so start number by number until you manage to pull it off, go to official Reaper forum and use search.
