Couldn't do it the easy way, could I??

Still haven't had time to tune and voice it...I want to tune it in context of the companion amp, which isn't done yet.

Wow, it's beautiful! I'm into a lot of homemade percussion sometimes. I hope your eccentric kalimba sounds as good as it looks. :)

Groovy!

Did you get your piezo elements from Radio Shack buzzers, or buy them separately?

Cheers...

Actually, that particular piezo disc began life in a Panasonic clock/am radio from the early '80's. It's huge; about an inch and a half across. I tested the pick-up/jack plug assembly by taping it to an empty 10 gallon water jug; it's got that extended range you can only get with a big-ass chunk of vintage piezo.

Yeah, it's true...there is such a thing as a 'vintage' piezo buzzer, and yeah, it does make a difference.

Please, someone shoot me, now.

:lol: :lol:

Just don't go trying to "relic" new piezos. It won't work. And even with a 24/192-enabled piezo simulator, you're not going to get that "vintage" piezo tone.

<grin>

Sounds like a winner. Nice test setup! :lol:

Wow kaden! I just got done complaining about how lazy I am and then I stumble across you and another one of your works. Makes me wish for more time in a day.

Cheers! :)
