How do you slice midi notes? Or clips in the arrangement view? Is there a shortcut?

There is a workaround of course if there isn't, but it would be faster I think if there are direct tools.

I dunno, I'm a Cubase / Reason guy myself ATM. I own live, but hardly use it. As a fairly neutral observer, I would say on this site at least, I have noticed FAR less Live fanboyism (And many, many detractors, i.e the live pdc thing) than Reaper.

but yeah, saying something bad about Live or Reaper OR saying something good about Reason or Sonar is very much a dicey proposition around here.

basically Reaper working same way as the other DAWs, customization (setting shortkeys, toolbars) takes 1-2 day (just because u gonna play with the custom scripts a bit for sure

) the major issue is the absence of the automation clips (EDM related), as I see the easiest way currently is creating references to real MIDI files (which will be used by all the clips with the same content) from MIDI clips then duplicate them, automation copying script uses clips (with same name) + envelope track as source (so ghost clips can't be used here)

tried other methods but for me this one seems the fastest

I used to have a band. Now I have Live and to me it's like a partner in the Session view and also a instrument overall.
A kaleidoscope of little ideas.
I own a license of Reaper but to me it's like LEGO. I find myself always moving bricks around and building little.
I works for others tough.

I'm not hostile to 'everyone who posts things you don't like ...", in your case, just YOU for bringing into this thread yet another subject that wasn't germane at all. I question your tactics as they are suspect.

Confused and retaliating toonboy, don't accuse me of anger, as there is none, more it is just amazement at the immaturity and fanboyism I too often see here. So, "go offline" - you mean quit this forum like so many others have, like all my bandmates or friends have suggested, thinking I was stupid to ever join up here in the first place? Probably good advice, but it doesn't get the offenders here off the hook, does it?

By the way, elsewhere, Yes, I think the names "Cocko" and "Reaper" are incredibly adolescent-sounding. So do the gals I've discussed it with. It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Can we return this to a LIVE thread? Why not go start your own Reaper, malcontent, or whatever threads?

Ok, I had your back earlier, Reaper ad nauseum is annoying, especially in a live thread where someone wasnt asking for host advice, and I prefer a daw that decides to have a real identity myself, but you might be going a bit overboard here.

I have some counter-punches

-I have no idea why reaper is the most polarizing DAW host in history, but there isn't anything wrong with it or people mentioning it. So you don't like/use it, so what? It's not some buggy/crashy POS.

-Max4live: It was SO CRASHY it was unusable. Wasn't even close to being the only one. Maybe they fixed it in the last couple of years? It's a great idea. However, live was a mainstay of mine for a long time. Don't miss it, but it was good to me.

The thing that has been/will always be annoying (and it's never going to stop) is that the only real reason to argue about a host is IF it's not stable. The other stuff is preference.

Well, I don't know, Shawn. Uh, huh. I certainly do understand part of Reaper's popularly. Needs a dinosaur or cartoon figure to really put it over the top.

Now, feel free to post more boring vids and 5 and 7-step procedures for doing in Reaper what Live and most modern DAWs can do in one click. Bore us all to tears for another page or two, but I think we've all checked out already.
