i've just taken a look. well, these are simply (smallish) soundfonts wrapped using SE without any further effects treatment. too bad, the person didn't simply put up the soundfonts.

Hi Geoffrey,

most interesting link, the arabic midifiles. I got several midi files with music from Israel once and it's pure fun to compare those songs with the arabic one. Always something to learn, thanks!

I think on sf2midi.com I saw some arabic sf2 once, if anybody would like to take a look.

double post from other "arabic samples" thread:

Hi,

I am currently developing a line of Ethnic percussions, strings, and winds - the website is not really finished yet, but you can go and download some free stuff anyway-

www.babelaudio.net

There are currently available for free some Zil (Middle Eastern finger cymbals) samples, Tingsha (Tibetan hand bell) samples, and some windchime "performances".

As for the commercial stuff, you can read a bit on the home page, but I am not going to announce any products too early - but rest assured, there will be a whole range of dedicated sample sets coming out.

There are samples of a Tunisian Hand Drum on my website ... they are labelled "Skin Drum" ... and they're free to download (you can make a donation if you like)

:D

I'm afraid xandro hasn't posted since 2004 ;-} but others will likely enjoy the hand drum samples.

Amir:

First of all, apologies for hijacking your thread with a plug. Now here's my plug: :D

Check out the American Zither...the name can be misleading, as it's actually capable of producing a wide variety of exotic sounds.

Alan Blattberg's Demo is proof that it can get pretty close to the sound of a santur, so I just wanted to send out a notice. :)

BTW: VST/RTAS format.
