Thanks for showing this. I see that buying Synthmaster was worth it, most of the tracks made with it are pretty nice.
Hive sounds good too.

After using Sylenth 6 years now. I would say that it is still one of the best synth out there. It has clearly the best filters on every vsti. It is snappy, clear and it just does sound best to me. When Hive came out, I really wanted to like it. I mean really. I've been testing it many times. But it just sound thin. Sounds like millions other vsti's. There is that same sound signature in all uhe synths, what tone2 have. Uhe synths sounds so thin in low mids and bass regions. It just not fat. Except Diva. Diva is sounding good, but use all the cpu power. Sylenth is very good sounding synth and still is very easy on your cpu. However, there is small "radio" sound in Sylenth. But you can easily get rid of it. Just small 2-3db cut at ~3000-4000khz and your Sylenth sounds even better then. But I also think that Spire is sounding good too and maybe little more "modern". Bright. I want to buy Spire next. But for now, Sylenth is my go-to synth.

Thanks to VIP now I know I have over 4000 different Sylenth1 presets. Will post conclusions when I check them all

Dude, you are an infinite source of quotes for a signature!

Pretty much agree. Sylenth may not have the most technically advanced algos, and is indeed prone to genereate some junk frequencies in the upper midrange, but what sets it apart from many other VSTis is how musical and alive it sounds. Especially the filter is so liquid and organic (arp303saw anyone  )

I agree with this - there is something common to the sound of all the u-he synths. It's just as much a taste thing as well - not necessarily about 'thin' or lack of being 'fat'.

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

I disagree completely! :hihi:

ACE, Bazille and Diva have nothing in common. I wished that ACE sounds similar to Diva! I could saved some money :hihi: I've also compared ACE with Bazille, they are with completely different characters.

Hive? I don't have it, I have just demoed more than once and I might buy it next. I like it a lot and between it and Sylenth, I think I want Hive more, but between Hive and Spire, hmmm! Very difficult.

But, all those (Hive, Sylenth1 and Spire) are not the most essential synths for me because I don't do EDM or Trance. I like Dune 2 more than the three because it can do Wavetable and FM, which is more useful for me than the sounds that Sylenth is famous for.

Anyway, Sylenth is a great synth, and I believe it is a must for EDM crowd as it is very easy to come up with useful leads/pads for that genre with it.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I've had the same thoughts, something sterile about them.

My own Sylenth1 init patch also used a specific equalizer setting that made it sound "more solid and muted" in a pleasant way.

Compare Tyrell N6's oscillators (especially in unison), and Bazille's filters with Hive, and the similarities should become more obvious. ;) U-he synths do sound similar. Just like any other developer's ones too.
