Highly recommended, picked it up last year and really impressed by the quality. You can't beat free, either! :)

I assume they're inspired by the real thing rather than replicating them due to sample copyright issues?

Post

I might be wrong, but I believe they have sampled the real synths, but then renamed them in the interface because of copyright issues. Each interface has got the same set of parameters that can be changed, but what really makes it useful in my opinion is the ability to easily layer sounds and the fact that it's got a great arp/step sequencer too.

Thanks for the info :tu:

This must be the third or fourth license I get for free :D

This is tremendous value at least for me. I never understood why UVI took the piss on their hard work and dumped this product into no-pricing. I also understand that not all people have a fetish for 90s ROMplers like I do.....

Didn't they initially withdraw it from the market only to make it available again later?

There's something fishy about all this. Maybe it has to do with the sampled synths. It has content from the three main players which still earn money from these copyrights: Yamaha (Motif basically uses the same technology as the SY77), Roland (we all know how religious they are about their sampled stuff) and Korg which has products that compete wit this product (iOS m1, M1 app for computer).

What an amazing deal but where does one download the instrument from? I can get everything working except finding the download

1) Get code
2) "Buy" DS with code to get it for zilch
3) The serial you get must be registered, alongside your iLok account
4) You should then be able to download the product from your UVI account

thanks numanoid - i was stuck in the mode of "must download demo and activate" and looking for a demo

your solution works a treat

thanks again, woggle

I am not registering mine, will have to pay $25 to transfer it second hand then  :D

Nice to have but you don't actually need it.

Using the virtual iLOK manager, users can authorize UVI products on up to 3 separate computers.
