So what is different about ST2 LE?

Yes, full effects algorithms.TK110 wrote:Do you still get the T-racks and Amplitube effects?
In the effects department, the only difference between ST2LE and its bigger brothers is that in ST2LE you can only edit the first three effects (The first effect is always EQ/compression). The last two effects in the chain are read-only (from the preset).
Hope that makes sense.

Is SampleTank LE basically a "play-only" stripped down version of SampleTank? Like the Kontakt Player?
Is it tied to the library that it ships with (say one of the SR Capsules)?
Or...
Can ST LE load and play ST-Free samples?
What about loading & playing Akai libraries?
Any info appreciated. I'm seriously considering some of the new SR Capsules, but the details on ST LE are a bit sketchy.
Thanks.
Ray

Similar idea.RayC wrote:Is SampleTank LE basically a "play-only" stripped down version of SampleTank? Like the Kontakt Player?
No, you can use one STLE installation to play all/any SampleTank(2) format sounds.RayC wrote:Is it tied to the library that it ships with (say one of the SR Capsules)?
I don't know. Probably.RayC wrote:Can ST LE load and play ST-Free samples?
Nope. It only plays SampleTank(2) sounds. Only the full ST2 versions (L and XL) can import non-SampleTank sounds.RayC wrote:What about loading & playing Akai libraries?

Thanks Jeez (hey, want to become a moderator? You can take tune's place
that crumby moderator! just kidding we love Mr. Tunes but... he's not moderating!).
ST 2 LE can also read the free ST sounds. It can read ANY ST format sounds.

I'm assuming that ST2 LE is 16 part multitimberal. What about multiple outputs? And are you allowed multiple instances in a sequencer as well? And - one more question: How do the editing parameters differ from the full version?

Yes, luckily it has 16 mono/8 stereo individual outs and is 16 part multi-timbral (kind of like a nice pro hardware sound module would).TK110 wrote:I'm assuming that ST2 LE is 16 part multitimberal. Editing parameters are the most popularly needed ones such as cutoff, attack, release, fine tune etc. there are 12 total which is better than the previous ST1 LE which only had 4. In fact, ST2 LE has those 4 PLUS the 12 fixed (so up to 16 depending on the sound). In the full version there are synth 50 edit parameters plus the 4 macros.

SampleTank2 LE allows only one instance. Mind you, 16 channels and 8 stereo outs is quite a lot - better than most hardware sound modules!TK110 wrote:And multiple instances are allowed too? Just want to make sure since Sampletank Free only allows one.
Of course, the full SampleTank2 (L and XL) allow unlimited instances.
Personally, I've got the full ST2 engine, but I've never needed more than one instance.
