Live Lite Track Limit Workaround

Hi

So, I decided to pursue getting a MIDI keyboard. It looks like whatever I end up with(atleast the ones that I'm looking at) will come with Live 9 Lite, which is great, considering I'm stuck on version 7 with 32-bit. However, it's limited to 8 tracks, which is kind of ridiculous. The last track I was working on have around 30.

Basically, are there any workarounds that can be used to get past this track limit(not warez or anything sketchy like that), or any tips anybody has to get the most out of the track limit? I like to layer a lot of instruments on the same notes, so I could use the instrument rack for that, but that's about all I can come up with.

Pretty sure there's a vst instrument limit and fx limit too, so it depends what you want to rack up.
A trick from my 4 track days for getting the most out of limited tracks is bouncing down.

Ahhh, crap. I forgot about that. That same track I mentioned in the OP has about 12 instances of Synthmaster layered up. Very lush. I'll try bouncing, I'd hoped to avoid that, but meh. I can always switch between 7 and lite.

There isn't... This was in previous versions, but no more... Btw, for me is the 8 track / 8 scenes limitation a simply wonderful thing... Reduce to the max... :P

Well you can save 11 of those tracks just by layering your instrument inside a chainer type plugin.

You can layer lots of synths in a rack on one track. Since you can do key splits, you can have a bass and lead on the same track for example. Even more if you want to get creative with velocity and chainer.

Same with drum racks... you can do a lot in 8 tracks.

And of course you can save a project that uses 8 tracks, export audio, import that into a track in a new project and have 7 more tracks. Then you can always go edit the 1st project.

Oooh. I forgot about utilizing splits. That's awesome. And I like the idea of bouncing projects into new projects, that sounds useful.

Less is more! :hihi:
Maybe using 2 instances in sync, and somehow send the output from the second instance to an input on the first instance?
It might be possible....

btw... you can also retune a synth preset so you can use the top couple octaves to play lower notes and then add another split that would otherwise overlap

That's easy! They are due for a sale soon, lite to intro will be negligible, and that will give you 16 tracks.. that's something.

Second, you could just upgrade to live 9 standard. i know i know but it can really be worth it as you get the superb eq (best daw eq imo), the glue, and lots of goodies, I would seriously consider just doing it if i was you.
Um... That's great and all, but I'm already mostly cleaned out and onn a $100 loan from my dad for a Code 61... I would love nothing more than to upgrade to 9 Standard, but I can't come up with $380 overnight. Or without a car.
