Also check the upgrades section here

Hmm... that really hasn't changed my perspective. Xara, is a subsidiary of Magix, which has it's own site. Xara, really doesn't factor into my points, especially since their products differ from Sony's.

Where exactly is the everyday, upgrade pricing listed at on the site? The support page only mentions what I already touched on about special (usually, random, limited time offers) via email.

I've owned various Magix software since 2005 (FYI) I receive discounted offers whether It's an upgrade for a product I have, or a cross-grade offer to other products. I didn't say you couldn't get deals, but they still don't seem to have everyday upgrade pricing that's listed!

How about an example like this__ http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiope

and the fact there is actually some support now, if you ever dealt with YT and Christian you too would consider that an update :hihi:...I'm not sure but I also think Indy is now 64 bit as well. Also now Vandal and it's fx are available inside of Indy, though I am not a fan of the gui. (not sure about other Magix plugins if they also work in Indy but I will test it). The codemeter has been dropped as well, I started with Indy before Magix bought it and I had to use two codemeters now that Magix has given users the option of the dongle or not I have removed two dongles from my machine.
Just to be clear
1 it was 64 bit a long time before Magix bought it
2 the dongle and codemeter where removed a long time before magix bought it

Independence could be great, magix bought it to get thr licence fees from Time n space or whoever else uses engine, in fact engine gets updates that indy doesnt and it is a cut version of indy wtf ??
I'll take your word for it, it was dongle when I bought it and I have had it since 2009, when Pro X ditched both dongles so did I...but still I have never dealt with worse service than Christian at YT...that was Indy pro 2.0 upgrading to 2.5 I believe...I'm not searching for it but there is a thread about it in everything else. If you have gripe with Magix take it up with them, they have been very good to me ;)
What ?
I have no gripe with Magix, why so silly ?
I pointed out they haven't updated independance when it was being implied that they would update Vegas and Acid, and this was Magix track record, it is not, Vegas will get an update (it was already finished before it was sold to Magix) beyond that we can assume nothing, their track record is to buy something and then leave it unupdated in my opinion, much like your opinion on Christian, it is just an opinion (OK in his case my opinion is he is a complete and utter disrespectful A-hole that i would happily slap some sense in to, oh and he still runs Indy support by the way, and still the same arrogant ignorant piece of **** now it is just done in Magix name)

seems I got my wires crossed  I guess as I approach 60 I should get use to that but in my defense I got a lot going on here :hihi: As for Christian, my by biggest gripe was no response and now there is at least an venue for though the truth is I haven't needed it. I did have issues downloading the content when they released Pro X but Magix just sent me the box version (after one very long weekend of downloading to no avail) \. I have a 4 or 5 year old version of Vegas, I was never super happy with the Magix MEP tbh, it's good but there were some little bugs and I never cared for every time I got a new version I had to jump through hoops for codecs that should just come with the product, seems odd to me. As for what they will update there are some new hires at Magix so I wouldn't even try to guess either.

Oddly enough I did a search for samplitude update readme files and found this from the newcomers forum which is the strangest update patch I have ever seen (to indy stand alone in 2013, but no installer, just replace files) so I give up trying to figure it out :hihi:

BTW, as a customer i got an email yesterday, which said that there will be a new Movie Studio version (i own 2 versions of it), which will come out in february next year, and which will obvious be called just VEGAS Movie Studio. They will continue the versioning though, so it will be version 14 of Movie Studio then. So, they will at least keep on maintaining, and developing the Movie Studio line of their products just as they did before. I would guess the same will apply to the "big" VEGAS movie editor.

They have already emailed customers of Vegas studio to say an update was coming.

Yeah. I got the Vegas email. Its £145 until midnight tonight, with a free upgrade to the next version. I'm very tempted. I have Soundforge, so I hope they update that too.

I've used SF for so long it's in my blood, but it really needs 64-bit support at the very least, and a live FX processing rack like wavelab. Oh and the scripting engine is indispensable :)

I'm still on 10 I didn't really get the point of 11, I'm hoping for a decent 12.

I gotta stop automatically deleting those emails, I used Soundforge for a while as well as Vegas and MEP...but I get so many magix emails that I dont need lately if it isnt samp related I chuck it

I bought SF Pro 11 without realizing it didn't support 64 bit plugins. An upgrade is needed. I just went and got Vegas 13 / 14 while it's still on offer (5 hours left).
