BandCamp and other services

I think a great thing about Bandcamp (besides allowing various file formats for downloading) is that it's possible to attach additional files to the downloads. So if you want to put in some sort of cover picture, or information about where and when the record was made and who's playing what on it, it's possible to put that in there.

It's a crying shame in digital music stores that the only extra information that can be put into the music files is the meta data inside the files. No one ever puts in information about the musicians or anything, at best it's just a small cover picture attached to the file. Bandcamp allows extra stuff and that's great.

I use both, CD baby and bandcamp. You need to be on the popular things that people know how to use like itunes and spotify, but I always promote bandcamp a bit more because it pays better.

Something happened with CD baby that I didn't like, a minor niggle really. I'd opted out of being a youtube partner when choosing the the services I'd like to be on... yet they still uploaded my songs to youtube with ad's splattered all over them, so I guess all I'd done when opting out of being paid, I guess they were collecting that ad money?
