Hi all.
I'm trying to buy the Maschine software in the marketplace, and there is a potential seller who wants to sell the software but keep his hardware. But it seems as though the v1 Maschine software is bundled to his hardware License. So he is saying to me, quite understandably, that he can't sell his Maschine v1 License and the upgrade to v2 to me, because he then loses his Maschine Hardware license.
Given that others have sold the Maschine software on it's own, does this mean that the Hardware can operate perfectly well without any software license? That is to say - if the user just wants to use his MAschine as a hardware MIDI controller, with other software, but without any license in his NI account, can he do this?
Many thanks for any help.
Maschine software license sale/purchase question

I had a slightly different experience, but when I was selling my Maschine, I was going to sell the Maschine 2 update separate as the buyer only wanted the hardware really. So when I sent the license transfer request to NI, they emailed me back to say do I want go ahead with the transfer as the Machine 2 update was tied to the original Machine Software & Hardware, it I went ahead I would forfeit the update in my account and would no longer be able to access it.
That's just my experience with it though, others may be different, I think NI may have done this to stop people from selling the hardware/software individually.
