I notice there is Sample Tank 3, MUX instruments, maybe other VST too, they do not support controller 7 for volume and controller 10 for pan. so it is only with expression possible to change volume. but expression change on velocity layer instruments lots more. because no Mixer in RC3 what can do now. My idea is do add a switch that volume slider can change the volume /pan of the VST instrument so volume pan in RC tracks can work on all VST

In my opinion you should set the volume in the VST plug-ins' editor. The way it works: RapidComposer passes MIDI data to the VST plug-ins, which they process and send back audio samples. There is no volume setting possibility other than sending MIDI controller events to the plug-in. With the Mixer panel you were able to set a gain for each plug-in but that was just a multiplier, not a real volume control, which is in the plug-ins. If the sound level is low in the plug-in, multiplying the samples may not give the best results. Please correct me if I am wrong.

However very soon there will be a new unexpected feature added, that will solve this problem. I cannot tell more about that

yes i was referring to the latency
(just in case its i7-4820K CPU @ 3.70 GHz , 64 GB ram and phrase length was 8 beats )

strange, i just tried in a new empty project and it worked with no latency
ill report if i can reproduce again.

• Changed: "Start/Stop Playback & Jump To Playback Start Position" jumps back when stopping
• Loop state is restored with the composition
• Fixed: crash when saving a phrase fixed (bug appeared after internal changes in beta8)
• Fixed: replace track with template does not crash and uses the original template instrument
• Truncate is enabled by default in "Rotate Notes"

shame on me, I haven't tried it on OS X. The source code is the same on Windows and OS X and most of the time it is sufficient to develop and test new features on Windows. I'll check this today.

Only a small strange thing i see when use the browser. when i drag from tracks browser a template on the blue track field left, the track VST ist replace correct, but the track is not active. no track is active then. when i play on my keyboard the sf2 default piano sound come. but i have no piano in any track. when activate the track, then work ok.

Thanks a lot, yellukhan, for taking notice of that strange and rather annoying behaviour in RC: mea culpa, I observed that unpleasant "automatic change" quite a long time ago (it also existed in previous versions), but unfortunately I just forgot to post a message concerning this problem.
