That indeed is the correct error message as the certificate only works for https://cytomic.comFrantz wrote:Andy - You should handle the URL with "www" in it:
https://www.cytomic.com/
I get this error message in Chromium (Chrome for Linux):
Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from http://www.cytomic.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
Automatically report details of possible security incidents to Google. Privacy policy
Ive added an .htaccess rewrite rule so that https://www.cytomic.com -> https://cytomic.com
That is the only way to handle the situation unless I fork out for a useless ssl certificate with the www in it! Thanks for spotting this

The certificate is for https://cytomic.com, and it is trusted.lnikj wrote:It is an untrusted SSL certificate.

What a rip off that the certificate doesn't cover both.andy-cytomic wrote:The certificate is for https://cytomic.com, and it is trusted.lnikj wrote:It is an untrusted SSL certificate.

I still get a privacy error. I have to click through the warnings in order for the redirect to work.andy-cytomic wrote: Ive added an .htaccess rewrite rule so that https://www.cytomic.com -> https://cytomic.com
One of these might have been better: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildcard_certificate

I had to use a 301 redirect since chrome was checking the certificate BEFORE the .htaccess rewrite rule. Should be all good now!Frantz wrote:I still get a privacy error. Can you please let me know the name and version of your browser, and also the name and version of your operating system?Frantz wrote:I still get privacy errors.

Note we are talking about this URL with the www: https://www.cytomic.com/

I am on Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon 64-bit at the moment. Chromium seems to be working now but Firefox 47.0 still gives errors.andy-cytomic wrote: Can you please let me know the name and version of your browser, and also the name and version of your operating system?

This is simply a hostname mismatch for the "www" subdomain. The certificate is not valid for the "www" subdomain.
Andy can get rid of this issue by simply redirecting all www traffic to the root domain cytomic.com.

Wow I love the way you have setup the audio clips. The way each bullet point description is highlighted while the clip is playing. That is a great way to explain what you are hearing while you are hearing it. I havn't seen that done anywhere quite that way. Nice!
And the little EQ display - unobtrusive but helpful - again visual feedback on what you are hearing while you are hearing it. Great!
Nice audio examples too. Well done Andy. You get a gold star.
