Get a few of those Wedding Present stylee guitars on there, its a f**king winner!
Eh, a leopard can change its spots on a blue moon, right? ;) Sometimes a bit of pop just fits the bill...

I'll just leave it to you to make the Wedding Present version (after You™ does the Brain Wilson thing), as I couldn't bear to drop my horns from the mix. :hihi:

I’m buggering off on holiday on Monday will miss the voting. So, true to form, I’ll probably get my customary annual disqualification. :D

Anyway, just in case Teach is feeling generous and will accept my votes, here’s my top five:

Plunge - Chloe
Catchy and alive with the vibe. Great song, voice and chops.

Spyro - The future of humanity.
Musically right up my street. Remco you’ve got a great voice - a bit like Conrad Lambert but better.

Bastien - Ninety- Four
Dark & lovely.

Beardedone - Jubwha
Nice arrangement. Love some of those piano chords and brass section riffs.

Wopelka - Rain Dance
I like this. It sounds like it should be in a Terry Gilliam movie.

Honourable mentions (ie music I found the time to listen to)

DT - 12 Foot Lizard
Hehehe - ELO indeed. Now I’ll always hear a little bit of Jeff Lynne in your tracks, Sorry though, points deducted for the words "Ivory Tower" (on a par with paradigm I’m afraid)

Freezstar - Beleza
Top escola de samba vibe. Got me in the holiday mood.

Duncan Parsons - The chimp who wasn’t there.
Nice arranging and chops chap. Made me chuckle too.

Mr Me - After Eve
Nice. I especially like the bell intro

Fst - Upturn
Good stuff. The man can certainly play the geeetar.

RichieBee - 50 Second Getaway
Top title & vibe. Nice drum programming

Kriminal - She’s Alive
Competent as ever - not that you need me to tell you that

IanWeb123 - Ceycal
More interesting than 90% of ‘electronica music’ I get sent

EarthTones - Crave it
20 years ago you’d have got signed with this. Tight production & made me grin.

Baggio - Acid country
So NOT my scene that I couldn’t help liking it.

Mystar - SMAshid
More than a little scary.

Andreas E - Sweet Summer Rain
How could I not like this?

Tristea Orange - AerialNova
Been wanting to check out your music for a while and now I’m gonna check out more.

thomasc-dk - free for all
Very interesting with some great progressions. Good vibe too.

jdg - O0O
Very nice.

Barnadine - Heartbeat
Some beautiful bits. Bit trippy in parts too

Marlkeford - Sleekmonth
Excellent. Made me smile a lot.

Erki - Fly
Music to give Vangellis (or Frank Ellis as he’s known here) a run for his money.

Sorry to the others I didn’t get around to checking out. Oh and Sascha’s right, that sambaweb site just crashed my Mac most times so I hardly got to listen to any of those tunes.

See you soon

Dave

 I was thinking more Brazil

Oh, and thanks for the feedback on my piss-take track. FYI in the rush I couldn't find a mic and ended up recording the vocs into my vid cam - I just saw the footage - terminally embarrassing.

Thanks much Dave. The arrangement was the main point to me. Thanks for noticing. I was going to work in a solo but I felt it would be too distracting.

Cheers,
Gordon

Thanks a lot. Nice that you noticed the chord-things.

knockman wrote:thomasc_dk always love your stuff, i think somewhere you used the phrase 'grooving wrongly' to describe another of your pieces - funny how those words somehow seem to make sense and it's surely not a bad thing. i hope you give us more of your vocal ouevre soon. :D
Thanks! I'll try to overcome my problems with my own voice and do some actual singing.
