Without breaking the bank too much. At the moment I can afford around $100 USD but in some time can get something a little more expensive, but I'm somewhat cautious about spending more than that unless there is a demo version.
So far, the Kontakt player version of this seems to fit my needs the most but it's quite a bit steeper from their micro version that's only about $29 USD at the moment which *almost* has most of what I would need, short pretty much of just the mm sound I need.
The essential things I am looking for are high quality samples of real vocalists; Ohs and Ahs as well as an M constant sound so I can at least make Om/Aum sounds. As well, full range of both female and male vocals (from bass to Soprano). I'd assume that any high quality samples would be dry, and I'd also like ADSR control of the envelopes (I saw some that didn't seem to have decay control and the sustain was handled differently).
That's all that's essential to what I'm looking for. Anything extra is nice. Other things I would like but know I probably can't afford for a good while but don't exactly 'need' would be a product(s) with a bunch of vowels and constants for word builders in English and/or Latin to create entire Latin mantras and English words. I'd want to say Sanskrit too but that would have to be a totally different tool all together that would probably cover Indian mantras. The need for the "Om" sound is really important to the theme I am doing, but not necessarily in an exclusively ethnic/native-sounding way since my music is already drenched in Hindustani influences.
This is an example if anyone is curious as to what I mean. Side note, yes I am aware that the one synth lead (BS2) might be too prominent later in the track.
If anyone knows anything better than the product I linked for about the same price, or something that has at least the features I mentioned as essential for less than $100 USD, then I would grateful since I've spent a good deal of time (and will continue to) to find what I'm looking for.

I too have been looking for a good choir for a "democratic" price.
I'm mostly interested in Mmm sounds.

I should note that
I should note that the elements says it has mmm sounds, and I think sometimes you can make mmm sounds with filters, I know I have at least but it kind of seems to be hit or miss sometimes.
Still debating though, it's kind of hard to decide when I can't get my hands on it to try it out first to see if I can get the right kind of sound out of it that I need.
The problem seems to be that due to the labor involved it's going to be hard to find a high quality choir for under 500 USD, though there are some around 400 USD and some versions for less.
But I kind of feel like cutting certain kinds of features for smaller packages somewhat cripples it. It's not the removal of samples that bothers me or of only having one mic position or even not having processing effects, it's the loss of control over samples that bothers me and not at least having all the vowels of the larger package. The license is *for* the recordings/samples, so why would I loose control with a smaller package?
Well looking around more all the else I found at a decent price for high quality was another Soundiron product called Requiem Light for about 270 USD.sfd wrote:I too have been looking for a good choir for a "democratic" price.

Miroslav Philharmonik 1 might be an option. It had decent choir samples that meet your criteria and that people still use, despite version 2 of the software now being available. MP1 usually goes for quite low prices on the Sell/Buy forum.
MP1 is also included in MP2, which does not have upgraded choir samples of its own. You might be able to pick up a second-hand copy of MP2 within your budget or get it in one of the Group Buys IKMultimedia have quite frequently.
The Philharmonik software doesn't use Kontakt. It comes with its own sample player, which is basically a rebadged version of Sampletank.

Alternatively - you actually only have to grab the MP1 library. You can load it in the Free SampleTank 3 player.Torchlight wrote:Miroslav Philharmonik 1 might be an option.
