Frustration is good for creativity. Maybe you should pour your frustration into a song. :hihi:

So, why do people update their iLok software at all, as long as some older versions works? I never update, I don't even open that silly application.
In many cases it's unavoidable because the software installer will also run an unattended setup of Pace without ever asking user if they want to. Plenty of developers are quilty of force installing the Pace cr@p.
is this essentially a background process?

Basically yes. Usually the plugin installer will just run the Pace installer with a silent install switch. You can see the Pace installer executing but you can do nothing about it.

ugh. pace. i created a 2nd support ticket w/iLok.

after this i'm not changing anything ever. any future plug in purchases will not use iLok for "protection"

Some installers let you de-select the pace installer, whenever that option is available I go for it and only update the iLok software whenever I buy a new iLok base plugin.

Post

I got same problem. Didn't install any new iLok version, just Eventide Blackhole with iLok protection.

i remember that back when i had a physical ilok but then i rage quit and stayed away for years and years. i haven't seen that option since i got back on the ilok bandwagon but i only use plug ins from a few devs.. soundtoys, eventide, Zynaptiq, UVI. and i'm only doing HD authorizations.

Actually the Adaptiverb installer lets you deselect the Pace installer, that's what I did, maybe that saved me all the trouble.

Similar problem here, after changing my account password and deactivating one plugin (Eventide UltraChannel) in order to activate it on an other computer.
This should be see the end of iLok. Simply unacceptable.
worst of all, it indeed freezes whatever application you're using, your DAW or even Ozone 7 Advanced.

Should've read this...
None of my i-lok(HD-MAC) plugins work after installing ADAPTIVERB.

Is there any known way of getting it all up and running?

This is the first time i've encountered a problem with i-lok and now i'm screwed! Had to cancel todays session :(

Post

Some people suggest deactivating computer iLok and activating the dongle for those plugins.

So, Pace is separate from iLok? What is it good for if it is not really needed to run the plugin, anyway?

Post

Maybe in order to run iLok computer activations?

Post

I don't have the dongle, just the computer i-lok.

There appears to be no phone support from i-lok, not cool!

DAMN IT!

Post

Can i take the plunge to install (Zynaptiq ADAPTIVERB 1.0 Setup Win32.exe) along with it's included ilok installation program.

Without risking destroying all my old license activations on my physical iLok2 usb dongle?
