Well, Shimmer is the only Valhalla plugin I don't own yet... but:
- I would say in some ways Polaris shares more similarity with Übermod than with V³
- Polaris certainly can do stuff that will be hard to do with only one of the Valhallas

Played with the demo of this last night - Had lots of fun with the down-sampling reverbs settings (is there a reason why they're stepped to specific sample rates rather than a continuous range ?) and crazy feedback loops. The algorithm used for the delay taps etc. is definitely different enough from my Valhalla purchases to invest in this one too - Gonna pick this up after my next pay day !

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Hello! I demoed Polaris to try it out with some very digital synths:
Smoothing out resonant / additive / FM synths:

Creating long evolving tails for FX, commonly used in Psytrance - but not only.

Be useful if the next version came with a few more presets. With the excellent new features more is needed to show things off. Maybe you'd even consider a small competition, or some way to capture user presets?

Already own a few boutique 'verbs: NI RC24/RC48 and Eventide Blackhole...
Valhalla Shimmer was next on my list but I am really digging Polaris - it sounds fantastic:
1-soundwise, how does it stack up with Shimmer - can it do the Taj Mahal style presets?
2-more for the dev, are there any plans to implement more pitchshifting stuff (eg octaves, etc?) in the future?

Hi guys,
@Richard: Yes, I'll do more presets but right now I would like to get a better presets menu, in order to have more categories and not just one big dropdown list.
@frabato: if that's about Polaris, I don't plan (at least for now) more pitch shifting options.
Cheers,
Luca

Just demoing Polaris... tried it on one of my current projects ("Shimmer Delay" on guitar track) and it sounds really really good.
Gonna purchase it later this month.
Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

Polaris got 9/10, plus Value and Performance Awards on Computer Music Magazine issue 234

Polaris is an impressive plugin. We’d recommend it to anyone working in creative sound design.
