To those still having problems ... as per my previous post ... THIS IS WORKING FOR ME ... it rebuilds the iLok License Manager license storage file. It's worth a shot.
Posted in it's entirety ...
THIS IS WORKING FOR ME
I received a reply from iLok to my support ticket. They recommended the following ... this is for Windows:
1. Go to Services > Right click PACE License Services > choose Stop to turn the service off
2. Go to Program Data\PACE\Eden > delete or remove all .sbd files
3. Go to Services > Right click PACE License Services > choose Start to turn the service on
I did these 3 steps and then rebooted.
Next I clicked on an iLok protected item that was previously blocked and a window popped up that was titled Updating License Storage.
After that all of my iLok protected items were working.
None of my license uses were incremented as a result of the process.
BINGO!

same process. that sbd file is in the prefs of the library folder. library is hidden by default so you have to reveal it in the finder using terminal.
anyway.. it didn't work for me.
edit: for mac this is what iLok told me during our back and forth
Please try the following:
1) Go to the following location:
/Library/Preferences/
On Mac OS X 10.7 & greater, the users Library directory may be hidden by default. To temporarily view this location, hit Command+Shift+G from the desktop (or Finder > Go > Go to Folder) and type in the following
~/Library
This will give temporarily access the Library directory in the Finder. When done, close this window and it will no longer be visible.
2) Delete the "com.paceap.eden.clientdb.v1.01.sdb" file found there
The client database on Macintosh will be reset after completing this step.

Looks like a clear "welcome to customer support hell" where company A blames company B, which in turn blames company A. "We're not at fault! Our SDK is flawless", rinse and repeat.simmo75 wrote:iLok have told me its nothing to do with them and that its the fault the software manufacturers, the software manufacturers are claiming this is iLok's fault and they are working with them to fix it....
At least the devs try to figure it out.
Definitely feel sorry for you.
I think this clearly wins the thread.aMUSEd wrote:
Should have used the "Battery" image version however...

Unfortunately I dunno about a Mac solution ... though I assume it would be similar. Ya might be able to riddle it out though.
I think the key point in the solution I used is the removal of the .sbd file ... and it's rebuild and update as signified by the Updating License Storage popup. This is something not mentioned in the other solutions people have discussed ... maybe that's why those solutions aren't working for some folk ... but I'm just speculating on that.

You can also reveal the Library by dropping down the Go menu and holding down the Option key.dayjob wrote:library is hidden by default so you have to reveal it in the finder using terminal.

I dunno jack about Mac's but ... is there a "Service" as Windows calls it ... that you can turn off ... remove the .sbd file ... and then turn back on again? After you did that process ... and tried to access a previously blocked item ... did you see an "Updating License Storage" popup as I did? I'm wondering if there is something in a Mac that protects the .sbd file and prevents it's removal or updating. I'm also wondering if the iLok License Manager version matters ... mine is v3.0.3.

had no trouble deleting the sbd file. actually went through that process twice with reboots in the middle and everything. i didn't get any kind of pop up about "rebuilding" anything. just a "cannot connect to server" type of error when i first launched the licenser app. then it connected and everything looked just as it had before i did anything. no licenses available.TexLoco5 wrote:@dayjob

Ha! Thanks, my eyes are square from trying to sort this out...May as well give it a go though.
EDIT : Gave it a go but that file doesn't exist in that location, just .plist files.

not in the user library but the one that's in the root drive.. so your Mac HD/library... not your user/library
edit: i've done the process 3 times and it hasn't worked. ymmv

pretty obvious why waves went their own way years ago. i guess if you have their resources you can put some into making proprietary copy protection that actually works. unless i'm wrong there hasn't been any waves downtime has there? the handful of wave things i have work all the time.

Are you guys who are having trouble with iLok using new USB Hubs? I bought a new USB 11 port Hub for my music keyboard, mouse, mac keyboard, usb authenticators and hard drives + Blu-Ray drive and I'm pretty sure the Hub is essentially Malware. Like it or not people are even at risk of not being able to use any new HD or USB Hub if they're government tracked individuals because the government it planning to eliminate certain power users and basic users access to computers. The hub I was using is called Satechi and the new one is called Anker. I recommend noone update iLok and live with their current old hd and hub and os. OSX El Capital is an official government farce designed to simplify user banning. Even illegally.
Siera is entirely untrustworthy as are all new hard drives. I swear I know.
