I had the same experience with the Waves Gold bundle and Notion. I think most people buying VSTs assume that software that conforms to a plugin standard will simply work in any host that supports that standard.

It's certainly not an unreasonable expectation, no.

What I can't ever personally reconcile from these kinds of recurring threads (on music forums everywhere) is what is so critical or immediate that a person often can't take the time to demo something before they buy it, assuming those plugins have demos.

No idea if that's the case here, if they have demos or not, but I do see an awful lot of that. "I bought X, it doesn't work in Y app or Z thing from the web page marketing doesn't work right, I'm really pissed, etc, etc."

Just to say that using a mobile to read the link doesn't give any technical information, or provide a link to that section. Opting for the desktop version of the page on your phone presents a whole new world of information!

What about the people that DO demo and then something breaks?

Too black and white for my taste, not everyone is the same or trying to bend over backwards to please you.

If it's a bargain in a shop for a limited duration it might be less simple.

I normally demo stuff Before I buy but with Waves it is not that easy. The only way in the Waves Centre app (and what I learned from Waves support) is that once I install Waves plugins and want to remove just one of them I actually have to remove them all and install back the ones I want to keep.

Perhaps there is an easier way but not by using Waves Centre. So this is the reason I am reluctant to demo any Waves stuff. But now I am more wise from this experience and I will Think twice Before I buy anything else, and I will search and check any small detail Before I buy.

Plugindiscounts have/had no compatibility information at all in their website and Waves certainly did not display it up front so no one should miss it. So in my mind it's my own fault based on lack of knowledge and experience but Waves and Plugindiscounts could have done a better job as well to warn people like me.

About 2 weeks ago Plugindiscounts said they can help me and all I would have to do was to move my license back to my cloud. Since then I didn't hear anything more even though I repeatedly sent mail to them and ask how to proceed. I have a feeling I have no choice but to sell the license here at KVR market if I want to get at least some Money back. I never sold anything here though, just bought. I will just wait a Little longer and see what happens.

Update: I just got contacted by Plugindiscounts today and they will fix it within the next 48 hours. That is a really great customer service

They do have good CS. Glad to see you'll get it sorted. But it is good to keep reminding people that some hosts are not supported by some companies.

Oh man, I did the same: I ordered the head tracker, without ever spending a thought that the plugin and/or head tracker could not be compatible with FL Studio. Oh well, my own fault.

Well, sometimes official compatibility statements and the reality are two different things I thought

and I started browsing the web, in hope of finding someone to prove me right, only to find this post here on KVR.

I was really devastated...
However, today (after they finally added the NX plugin to my account) I gave it a go anyway and I don't know why but the plugin works fine for me.

I couldn't test it yet with the head tracker (since I'm still eagerly waiting for it) but it works flawless with the tracking via my webcam. I'm currently using FL 12.2 (build 3) 64bit.

I do own some plugins from waves and they all work fine with FL Studio. So I went for the Kickstarter offer and ordered the NX head tracker and NX virtual mixroom from waves. But I could not get it to work so I contacted waves support.

My problem was related with WavesHeadTracker_x64.exe (dedicated head tracking application) which did not open automatically with the Waves VMR Plugin.
When I tried to execute the file WavesHeadTracker_x64.exe I got error "entry point _crtCreateSymbolicLinkW could not be located in MSVCR110.dll".
So I searched the Internet and found the solution at:

I have installed both vcredist_x64.exe and vcredist_x86.exe.
And it worked for me. After rebooting my system Waves VMR plugin automatically opened the head tracking application and my NX Head Tracker works in FL STUDIO.
