Two Kaleidoscope presets from the upcoming set in action, processing urban field recordings I gathered in Tokyo.

Four instances of Kaleidoscope with different/poly-rhythmic groove patterns
(presets from the upcoming set), two of them use the internal noise generator to excite the resonators, one is using an urban field recording and one is processing a simple Zebra pad.

Four instances of Kaleidoscope using presets from the upcoming set no. 16 in a minimal groove scape - some volume automation, input sources are brown noise/ocean waves and an urban field recording with traffic noises and voices. Some volume automation and external FX (B2/Reverbical/Soundtoys FX rack/MXXX).

Five instances of Kaleidoscope with 5-8 based groove patterns, crossfading between the sequences live on video, input source is the internal white noise generator in KS.

And the last demo for this set - what a kaleidoscopic weekend...

Five instances of Kaleidoscope using 5 presets from set no. 61 in an ambient soundscape sort of cosmic thing. Input sources for Kaleidoscope are ocean waves, an urban field recording and a noisy Photosounder texture.

Here come the release notes for subscription set 16:

There are quite a lot of rhythmical patches - also polyrhythms and odd time signatures - in this set, then I am experimenting with tempo-synced pulsations/perforations, various ramp shapes and more. The images are all abstract this time, two tuning files extracted from guitar harmonics, some nice tonal ones, waveforms extracted from sound sculptures, e-bow and percussion sounds. Tonal new-age soundscapes meet weird and surreal textures, tinkling stars get swallowed by ominous drones, I could go on but hear for yourself…

This set contains:

• 74 Presets
  34 images
  5 tuning files
  6 waveforms

The entire subscription library now includes 1106 presets - 615 images - 81 tuning files - 96 waveforms.

My fascination for Kaleidoscope doesn't cease so stay tuned...

Three instances of Kaleidoscope using three presets from the upcoming subscription set no. 17 in an expressionistic textural atmosphere. Input sources are two different modulated noise drones and an urban field recording which also contains some human voices.

Stepping though some presets from set no. 17 using two modulated noise drones as audio input, some Reverbical reverb and one of my MXXXXCore presets are processing KS, I had the DAW buffer a bit too low so there is some CPU-related crackling on the video:

Four instances of Kaleidoscope using 4 presets from the upcoming set no. 17 - with images of the Northern Sea shaping the resonances excited by a field recording of some ocean waves and vocal speech which fades in and out. The sends from the ocean waves to the KS busses are automated over time, some Reverbical and Sandman are providing the reverbs.

Three instances of Kaleidoscope using three presets from set no. 17 - all of them processing the same field recording of passing traffic recorded on a bridge. Some Reverbical/B2 and Sandman Pro are providing the space to fly in.

Kaleidoscope Subscription Set 17, uploaded on October 19th - 2016 containing:

• *70 Presets
  *24 images
  *4 tuning files
  *5 waveforms

This set contains some warped images taken at the Northern Sea, tuning files derived from field recordings I made in Tokyo (two vocalists and a Koto playing traditional Japanese music) and Shanghai (Chinese violin played by a blind virtuoso in a subway entrance), waveforms extracted from samples of a giant sound sculpture made from hoover tubes, abstract fractal images, cosmic nebulae and tempo-synced sequences. The 70 presets cover a wide range from tempo-synced ambient pad sounds to microtonal textures to orchestral soundtracks. Have a good flight…
