She looks so serious in her devotion to bananas and dance music.Frantz wrote:Dancing banana lady was a welcome addition to this thread.
Gaslighting...is a form of mental abuse in which information is twisted or spun, selectively omitted to favor the abuser, or false information is presented with the intent of making victims doubt their own memory, perception, and sanity.

Let us refer to the genius that is wikipedia:A KVR thread was *almost * derailed :-o - thank goodness someone had the presence of mind to steer us clear of said looming tragedy by taking the necessary steps to create a separate (but equal) thread  to which we can now all ponder what was wrote:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music
"The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of music vary according to culture and social context. Indeed, throughout history, some new forms or styles of music have been criticized as "not being music", including Beethoven's Grosse Fuge string quartet in 1825, early jazz in the beginning of the 1900s, and hardcore punk in the 1980s."

By all means call it "shit music," but "not music" is impossibly sneering. I feel the same way when people call conceptual art "not art" etc.

Of course, back in the day when some of us young folks were into this sort of thing:
quite a few would confidently tell us that Pharaoh Sanders' playing was not music.
The more things change...
