I do not understand these performance modules, which have one slider and input (and led). When I connect either cv or gate to this input it does not affect the output of performance module any way. I was thinking that the input value either multiplies the slider value or (with gate) the slider value is outputted when gate is on (and led is on).

It seems that output of these performance modules are depending only from the position of the slider.

Why is there is the input connector, if it does not do anything?

Post

Was my current question on the support. They say, the CV-input on these modules is only for visual reference, for example a gate or clock signal. This is similar to the LED meter Performance module.

It's a pity in my eyes.

Thanks! I started to suspect this also, when seeing the LED meter;)

To test the possibilities of simple modules in Modular I made this patch - sine osc with delayed and slewed feedback. I think it is quite rough and chaotic!

Delay and slew times are most effective, when they are very close to zero.

Only six parameters (which I have mapped to nanocontrol using generic controller functionality in Cubase) and a multitude of sounds is achievable!

Softube Modular is really cool!

Hello, I made a FXP patch of the patch-screenshot DARTelectronicMUSIC posted a few days ago. It is not allowed to upload a file with the .fxp extension, so I packed it in a zip. A little, but really sophisticated patch.

Well, thank you for this patch.

But I use Logic Pro X.

If someone has found the solution for loading the fxp / fxb for modular in Logic, please tell us all :)

Softube : please find a solution for those that use the "au" version of Modular as we really would love to have the possibility to exchange our presets with everyone (and load the presets the people give us).

I bought the Wagtunes presets pack and I simply can't use it in Logic...

I think a solution is to include a proper way to load and save patches from within Modular... like all major VST instrument developers do. I bought Modular, and if I load it in, for example VstHost (which is my main host for when I program vitual synths) I don't have access to the factory patches, for example. And where are these stored, BTW? I only found the AAX patches, buried inside a folder in Program Files\Softube\Plug-Ins VST AAX 64-bit\Resources\Modular.aaxplugin - an unbelievable location.

Yet, I have Softube folders all over my hard-disk, filled with things I don't even own.

The solution would be for it to have a proper preset manager instead of relying on the host, something they should have done from the start.

There is no internal preset manager? So I guess no presets can be loaded in Bitwig at all? Crazy.

I would have thought Bitwig would partially work as the browser does read fxp patches, the problem would be saving patches.

I wrote an extensive review about Modular on the german music production magazine BuenasIdeas. There are a lot of videos about my exploration of the synth, details of the functionality and examples of the presets. Not at all new for users of Softube Modular, but a deeper insight for anyone interested.

I made an another quick experimental patch with Softube Modular. Here the sine wave from VCO is slewed and modified using signal tool and the after filtering sent as control signal to same VCO.

There seems to be endless options when using signal tool, because different combinations of selected outputs (min, max, clip + , -) each make unique sounds.

Sorry for the screenshot only, I am not yet familiar with this fxb-patch system.

(Red knobs indicate 'custom control' from remote control, ie. Korg Nanocontrol)
