99% of the websites you visit are probably on Linux servers, for example, and very few things are up to par with Apache.
That's like comparing apple and oranges.

Whether or not websites are run via Linux servers, got nothing to do with a particular DAW. If we are not talking Ohm Studio, which one needs to be online to use.

Especially as i was talking about applications like Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and others, and was clearly talking about the home computer use. I'm well aware that Linux is more prominent on web servers (again, special distributions of it, not the normal home computer distros). The main business of Canonical is server, and cloud computing. 99% is nonsense again though.

Btw, wasn't this about the pro's and con's of free DAW's?

Clearly speaking in ignorance there.
Rather out of experience. ;)
So you're claiming that this isnt tens of thousands of convinced Linux users pointing out bugs in their distro, then...

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/query.cgi

Interesting. Myopic indeed.

Remind me how many bugs you've pointed out to Microsoft, again?

Argue with someone about the stability, and general bug-proneness of Linux vs. Windows. A linux user will always tell you that his distro is rock stable, and that he has had nothing but problems with Windows. Windows 98 SE that is. It's the "gift horse" thingie.

I've been frequent in 2 major german Linux forums, and there were people who argued that Windows still does updates via the explorer, which was last done in Windows Me i think. They really "know their shit". ;)

Again, I just don't get why it is so important to point out that users of Linux distros complain about flaws

I doubt it will make more users jump ship from Windows or macOS to Linux distros

No, it wasnt clear in the slightest, you're just being disingenuous now. Moreso since 'home computer' usage isnt what people typically associate with 'professional applications' in the first place.

Btw, wasn't this about the pro's and con's of free DAW's?
Maybe you could point that out to the guy who made it about whining about Linux. chk071, I believe.

If we were still in the 80's that would be the case, but the world has moved on since that.

Time to get updated.

No. i'm not. You're just claiming i meant something else than i did. And that is the end of the discussion from my side. We both know how discussions with you end, in a never-ending "But... i am right!" "No, i am, because you're an idiot." "No, you are an idiot, and i am right!". Really, better things to do than that. And Linux users are still religious and idelogic fanatics for the most part of them. In lack of another religion these days.

No, you're claiming that the words you used ('professional applications') could only have been interpreted to mean one specific thing ('home computer software'), when that's blatantly false.

The world has, the language hasnt. The words in the phrase 'professional application' still mean the same basic thing as they did in the 80s, as does the whole phrase. Likewise for the phrase 'home computer'.

Maybe you're confused, and think that because people now do more professional work at home, then the phrase 'professional applications' has somehow changed meaning, and now means 'applications designed for professionals, but not including those professionals who dont work at home' , as chk071 was arguing,' but that would be wrong.

Got a problem with a posting, why not just make a complaint to PC Numbo, as stated in thy signature

Nah, you dont quite have that much finesse. Looked a lot more like you were just cackhandedly mashing them with a blunt object.

Do you actually count it?

And when coming to inanities (or whatever), I don't compete, you are obviously the master in that :P
