Why are responses on KVR and GearSlutz are so different?

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Both mainly cater to different crowds, different mindsets and way of looking at things, one is like place where mostly the suits are hanging out and other is where the hippies&co are chilling, both don't condone to same things, so reaction to same things are naturally different and it should be like that really.

Yes this is true. Add to that that gearslutz moderators are much much less civil then KVR and if you say something bad about product and especially if that product is from company which is paying adverts at Gearslutz - your content is simply going to be deleted. This is not fancy theory this is the case. Even developers could confim this behavior albeit noone will publicly say it loud and clear.resistent wrote:Interesting point never thought about that ...fluffy_little_something wrote: It seems to me that it is more of an American board, whereas KVR is full of Europeans. All in all i think kvr is full of Europeans which tend to be a bit more aggressive and suspicious then good peeps in America and Eurpoeans tend to over analyze things. Sometimes this is good sometimes not.
One thing is sure. You can not sell snake oil here at kvr while at gs it could pass...
Needles to say that at a times both places can give you amazing info from amazing people.

So it's good peeps from America and aggressive and suspicious from EU, yeah right, there's so many different countries, cultures and mentalities in EU, you can't really slap any stereotype on everyone, it's plain ridiculous.kmonkey wrote:All in all i think kvr is full of Europeans which tend to be a bit more aggressive and suspicious then good peeps in America and Eurpoeans tend to over analyze things. Many of the posters on Gearslutz seem to have accounts at kvr as well. It might just be a placebo effect you're experiencing.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

From what i've seen from Gearslutz so far, i can't confirm that it is more "mature" than KVR... rather the opposite, i've seen quite some fighting there. And not always very competent comments. Anyway, it's much less interesting for me anyway, as i'm into software. And, the forum navigation seems hopelessly cluttered, and unclear.

Ummm i tried to express above opinion in good and positive light but i guess it did not worked that way. Sorry i am from Europe btw. Maybe saying that in the first place would make personal opinion more funny?Zexila wrote:So it's good peeps from America and aggressive and suspicious from EU, yeah right, there's so many different countries, cultures and mentalities in EU, you can't really slap any stereotype on everyone, it's plain ridiculous.kmonkey wrote:All in all i think kvr is full of Europeans which tend to be a bit more aggressive and suspicious then good peeps in America and Eurpoeans tend to over analyze things. Didn't, no matter how you tried, what you said isn't really applicable.kmonkey wrote:Ummm i tried to express above opinion in good and positive light but i guess it did not worked that way.
it wouldn't, still not true or funny.Sorry i am from Europe btw. Maybe saying that in the first place would make personal opinion more funny?
Don't see how, but you didn't made much sense with what you said and let's leave it at that. You actually and literally confirmed what i said

The professionals / non-professionals comparison seems to hold, imho. GS has more people who are actually earning a living in music business. GS has also more people who are more likely to masturbate while looking at racks full of expensive gear.
So it's probably the high price of Spectrasonics' new creation that makes it look more appealing there.

If you want to know the difference, look at the classifieds section of each forum.
It's pretty telling what users are using/buying.

Some extremely extensive sampling of a large catalog of keyboard instruments is going to be more interesting to a 'traditional' keyboard player. Probably many more traditional keyboard players and posters that work with traditional keyboardists there than here. So, it all makes sense? Would be almost wasted on most sequencing, probably, anyway.
