https://marketplace.tracktion.com/app/t ... re-upgrade
It's advertised as $21, plus an additional processing fee (Was 0.98 cents for me).
I already owned the full Tracktion 5, but am told the free one will work for the upgrade.
Even if you're not interested in the DAW, it's a great way to get a Melodyne Essentials 4 license!

An entirely new licence is $42 + bits. Since there is no current upgrade price for those who have free T4 or T5, this is as good an offer for a new licence (and half price updates thereafter) as you are likely to be offered.
It's only available for a short time, so don't wait.

I've got it yesterday (thanks to the guy posted in the bargain thread). It's a crazy price for a very good and smart DAW.
I have tested it for a couple of hours and I was surprised that it has very low CPU usage and it was very stable.
It has some advanced features like the Racks and some very detailed editing (I used midi only though). It needs some getting used to, but for those who have some experience with Tracktion in the past, they mostly would like it I guess.
I'm not sure if it will be my main DAW or not, but for now I just have Tracktion and Reaper as full non limited DAWs. The others are cut down versions from their big brothers (which I find surprisingly enough for me now as I don't mind the absence of this or that feature!).
Anyway, I'm still testing it, but it looks great so far

And it comes with Melodyne Essentials (I think that's the version - don't quote me).

I also took advantage of this offer - working through videos and trying bits and pieces. So far looks like it will easily do what I need at a low price. Coming from Reaper (which I still might end up using), Tracktion has a much better aesthetic and is more coherent in workflow. Reaper is no doubt far more powerful but requires lots of tweaking / scripting / etc, which I have no interest in but is, quite reasonably, one of the big attractions for many in the Reaper userbase.

Yes it has essential version of Melodyne, I had a note about getting it, but I didn't as I don't have a need for it.

Though I constantly get trolled for pointing things like this out, I got on board a while back for a very low price. Lots of crashing, and most of them are "poof" crashes. Very little support (saying they'd get back to me and didn't) and I'm not the only one even though I sent in the reports.
Not a bad product at all. But to simply buy it because it's cheap isn't a really good idea (unless as pointed out you really need the melodyne license). At least there is nothing wrong with the CPU usage in it

it messed up my app list a little, I tried to delete the program and there is some error and now it won't get off my app list even though I deleted the program. Also their synth crashed Studio 1 when I first tried it.

buying anything solely because it is cheap is silly but (assuming you can aford to lose $45) at this price it is worth buying if you are looking for another or even a first DAW. For a first DAW I would demo first but for an alternative DAW there is virtue in buying rather than demo-ing as buying makes it more likely you will put in the effort to really test it than if you just demo. If it works better than your existing DAW then great - if not then you haven't lost much money and you have a new appreciation for your existing DAW etc etcincubus wrote:Though I constantly get trolled for pointing things like this out, I got on board a while back for a very low price. Now now, you do know that programs are set up to crash as soon as you enter the key-code, right?
But truth is, you can test for a week or two and then run into problems later.

Thanks for posting this thread! I was planning on buying Tracktion 7 Upgrade really soon anyways so this deal came on time. I figured it's best to get it now so I just did! Nice discount on a already low price.
T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

I took advantage of the upgrade offer from free T5. For me, it just became a no brainer to try. I like Image Line Mini modular host and Tracktion racks seem to have that kind of functionality on steroids.
Easy workflow...seems like a good sketch pad at a minimum and perhaps it can be even more...we'll find out.

Got Tr.5 Free ...tried To like It , couldn't
Tested tr.7 demo. , got a lot of crashes..no warnings whatsoever.
A shitty feeling that gets even worse when you have payed for the program.
Test run It for a couple of days and the decide If It's Worth It .
I ended up deinstalling both.
Back To renoise\reaper...stable
euro investment

Yeah, I'm sorry, but it's really crash-happy for me too. Bummed, it has such promise.gentleclockdivider wrote:Got Tr.5 Free ...tried To like It , couldn't
