So any KVR member worked the backline, and in case got some celebrity stories to share?
Have any of you worked the Backline?

Being a backline "technician" used to be the live "tape-op" route to get into the music biz.

Probably not what you're looking for, but...
I used to be a freelance live audio engineer and had the pleasure of working with jazz singer Kurt Elling. He was truly amazing, he requested a bunch of high-end/esoteric mics/processors and was very impressed when we brought in some really nice AKG mics, Neve compressor, Demeter tube preamps and a Bag End ELF PA. He basically "produced" the sound of the band during soundcheck, like "gimme a couple dB at 1.5k and 7k on the vocals, medium compression on the piano, and this kind of reverb/delay on the vocal solos". It was so easy to make his stellar band sound phenomenal.
