We'll release Zebra 2.8 first, with a few nice enhancements. Hopefully also this year.fmr wrote:Urs wrote:We're optimistic it's gonna be this year, but optimism slowly crumbles away.electro wrote:Does ProOne have a release date?

Please don't forget about other products tooUrs wrote: I think we're doing a really good job with Repro-1. The project has also taught the other developers at u-he how to create a product from start to finish. Which means I might have a lot more time I can spend on Zebra soon!

I really hope getting the CV piece squared away doesn't take months considering the synth seems nearly complete otherwise. It just feels like an esoteric piece of the puzzle that a very small percentage of users would really get some mileage out of, while +99% of us would never even use those features (as evidenced by how no soft synths I can think of currently do this) and would love to play with the synth right now.Urs wrote:We're optimistic it's gonna be this year, but optimism slowly crumbles away.electro wrote:Does ProOne have a release date?
Any chance of a teaser on what kind of enhancements you're talking about?Urs wrote: We'll release Zebra 2.8 first, with a few nice enhancements. Hopefully also this year.
Most importantly, a new UI skin. Not far off of the original skin, layout-wise, but really nice and modern. Has a few workflow improvements. Makes Zebra2 feel like a whole new synth.cake builder wrote:Any chance of a teaser on what kind of enhancements you're talking about?Urs wrote: We'll release Zebra 2.8 first, with a few nice enhancements. While the Alpha seems like an almost finished product, there were loads of things that needed to be tackled. I agree that most people won't notice it, but I would not want to deliver a half-assed emulation that doesn't behave and sound exactly like both our reference Pro-Ones and the ones we have recordings of. Furthermore I've written 3 completely new effects for it that IMHO sound totally awesome. I'm on the fence with a fourth one, I might just reuse one we gotFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote:I really hope getting the CV piece squared away doesn't take months considering the synth seems nearly complete otherwise. That said, if the point of this was to build this as a research project, and CV connectivity is something you need to get squared away for other products/plans, then I guess you kind of have to figure it out now.
I hope I didn't sound like a downer in any way, I'm SURE the wait has been worth it. I love the idea of having a true 1:1 reproduction of a classic like this, especially at the level you've talked about. I only meant to say that if the Control Voltage piece would take months to get the synth out earlier, but it sounds like you plan on doing just that with the beta. I'm totally stoked about this synth (I already know I'll be purchasing on day 1), and I hope you (or you get the interns to) make a ton more of these.Urs wrote:You'll see... the wait will have been worth it, I'm sure!
Yes, please! Don't want any more features, or redesigns or anything, just an updated, modernised UI, that would make a world of difference.Urs wrote:Most importantly, a new UI skin.
