And when you do Zebra 3, please charge a reasonable amount of money for it, rather than the way-too-cheap prices that have previously been discussed. None of this £20 stuff - you have a business to run after all. A major upgrade deserves an upgrade price to reflect the awesomeness of the product... :)

Yes, please! Don't want any more features, or redesigns or anything, just an updated, modernised UI, that would make a world of difference.

OTOH A generous update fee benefits people with low incomes (or only disability allowance, like myself!) .;)

No LOL'ing about this, Urs; we're serious (I was one of the ones that sent you a sizeable donation for the Z2 upgrade). If you don't do this, you'll strangle yourself with an ever-lengthening train of products to support and upgrade. Make the train work for you, rather than against you! We would rather pay for useful updates now than wait for freebies.

I'm selling Zebra if the upgrade price is too low.

Yea I'm thinking I'll buy something I don't own yet if it's too low.

Any chance of a teaser on what kind of enhancements you're talking about?
Most importantly, a new UI skin. Not far off of the original skin, layout-wise, but really nice and modern. Has a few workflow improvements. Makes Zebra2 feel like a whole new synth.

Featurewise, one new module has been added, taking notice of my recent endeavours in playing with my new "west-coast-ish" modular synthesizer. It's a Wavefolder, of course.
A wavefolder!? Yes!! That will be very useful! Then I can translate even more of my hardware modular synth patches to Zebra.

Go home, hipster. Boutique analog gear is waiting for your money.

I didn't say set the price high - I suggested to not set the upgrade price too low... bit of a difference!

If you are not working as an accountant for u-he, why does it matter to you

u-he the company been in this game for close to 15 years by now, so would think they have gained the experience to know which prices to charge for a product update.

No, we're not asking him to raise the price of plugs because we're fanbois. We're asking Urs to speed up the release cycle of improvements to existing synths. I play live and earn a decent side income from it. I don't want to learn new synth architectures; I want the ones I've used for the past decade to stay current, and in ways that don't break compatibility with existing patches.

To maintain his cash flow, Urs has implied he needs to release new plugins on a regular basis, which diverts resources from extending existing instruments. It probably takes a lot of resources just to keep his existing synths compatible with changes in OS's, and that will be a steadily increasing drain on his ability to grow. Maybe I'm in the minority, but what maximizes my income-to-time ratio is to make it a financially smart decision for Urs to keep a good portion of his resources on development of existing synths.

Everyone's situation is different. If I were basing this purely on fun, I'd want to see him release all kinds of new plugins as well. (And make his Prophet emulation polyphonic  ).

Oh ffs. Honestly... sometimes this place feels like trying to have an adult conversation in a room full of entitled 6-year olds... :dog:

Yes, you're right. My post was all about telling them what to do because they don't have a clue how to run their business. Yes, that was *exactly* the intent of my comment, well done...

(Note: that was sarcasm, just in case it wasn't obvious enough...)

And yes, I still feel (a bit) guilty for the £10 Zebra1 to Zebra2 upgrade price (or whatever it was), along with 10+ years of significant Z2 free upgrades along the way, especially as I got Zebra1 in a discounted group buy in the first place as well...
