VSTi you bought but never really used

Omnisphere (gasp!). They promoted the arpeggiator hugely but it was actually one of the most limited arp's around. Every sound loaded up with countless effects I had to painfully remove in order to hear what I was actually working with in the mix, and then they still didn't play well with others. Yes, now with Omni 2 I can turn off all effects more easily and apparently the arpeggiator is improved, but there is no demo and no way I'm going to throw several hundred more dollars away after that first over-priced go-round. Major let-down.
Synthmaster. The arp/step-seq is virtually unusable due to general weirdness and for me that is an important feature.
Alchemy. I bought it, and thanks to Apple I could still use it but it's a grotesque resource hog. Poor sample import.
HALion5. I DO use Sonic though. Turns out HALion5 actually sucks at importing SFZ, and also is extremely buggy/crash-prone. I should have just bought Sonic and saved a few dollars.
Some Kontakt instruments like Mutate and Sequi2R - fabulous toys if you have a supercomputer. I'm thinking KSP is not a very efficient language to be coding large clock-based instruments in - MASSIVE resource usage.
(I guess it's apparent I'm oriented towards plugs with step sequencers - obviously you all may have completely different needs & likes.)

very same thing here. I've even forgot that I have itrobotmonkey wrote:Harmor.
Can't even say why. Maybe it's the GUI, don't know. There's just always other synths that I go for first.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Vacuum pro. Making new sounds is a pain in the a....
The Gui is terrible you cant see what you are tweaking, so a waste of money.
Hybride 3. Lots os nice sounds but designing own sounds takes endless time couse it sounds
so thin somehow.
Synthmaster sounds always the same somehow. Very modern music needs this synth. For my soundtracks it is useless. Best for this task is Elektra2, really true.

Korg Legacy MS-20 and Wavestation. And probably MonoPoly too (can't remember that well).
On the other hand, I definitely used Polysix...

Imposcar? I must say that's interesting as this is alongside Waldorf synths one of the best VST instruments ever made.sfd wrote:Why don't you use them?Optical Fingerprint wrote:Poly-Ana

Hello!?
A user must be able to say that s/he is not using particular stuff s/he bought, without having to go through some third degree interogation why not. That is beyond the scope of this thread.

Only that the OP created this thread for exactly asking this question.Numanoid wrote:Hello!?

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Omnisphere is the single biggest waste of money in "vst's" ever for me. Nearly 500 bucks, and though there were some good sounds, I just didn't jive with it.Protocol_b wrote:Omnisphere (gasp!)
