Here's my idea of what an oboe would sound like if it could be played with a horsehair bow. Use it where you would use a bright string pad.

Thanks, J_E_G, for making the gnarly obow samples available. I've mapped it out for Kontakt (K5) here: http://www.kvraudio.com/banks.php?s=dl&id=3044, taking the liberty of looping the samples, smoothing out the tuning a bit, adding an subtle attack sound, and having the mod-wheel bring in a tremolo.

(The NKI does *not* contain the samples, its "patch only". If you download and unpack J_E_G's original sfz, and put the NKI file in the same folder where obow.sfz is, Kontakt should find the samples)

Hmmm. Those waves are already looped. Not sure why kontakt isn't recognizing them. Sforzando and Linuxsampler do.

NKI does *not* contain the samples

You can redistribute the samples if you want.

You're right - looks like a bug in Kontakt's sfz import. The loops are there in the wav files, and if I load a single wav file into Kontakt, it retains its loop, but if they're loaded into Kontakt via the sfz import, the loops disappear. If I get energetic I'll rework the NKI to get your looping which is probably better than mine, you seem to have points where the waveform actually loops, I just crossfaded it to get them sort of smooth.

Generous of you, but I just made up the NKI so I could play with them myself, and then I thought why not up here in case someone else has use for it

(FYI: Kontakt NKIs are mostly stored same as as sfz, ie. a small file containing the programming/mapping, and separately stored samples; so no need to duplicate the actual wav samples here)

Free obow sfz
