Dear all,

here's something that has been haunting me since the first time I used RC:

When I stop playback, a lot of times one of my synths will continue playing a note. It keeps doing this indefinitely, until I 1) Change the patch of that instrument (which means I lose any changes unless I save the patch first), 2) Close the file and load another, or 3) Close RC and restart it.

Pressing ESC rarely solves this problem - but sometimes it does.

This happens all the time, I don't think it happens with all VST's, but it definitely happens with Zebra, Audioo Helix, and Korg MonoPoly. A wild guess which might point to a cause: It seems to happen more often when notes overlap, or when I press space during playback. Perhaps note-off info is not correctly sent to the synth.

Am I the only one experiencing this? Could there be a fix?

i notice this happen when play a song, and change in rc track the midi out channel.some notes hang and when press esc, only the notes on new channel are stop. maybe RC can send on all 16 channels all notes off. so esc always stop all

Hi CJ,

I have checked and found that CC 123 (All Notes Off) is sent to VST plug-ins when stopping. It is possible that some plug-ins do not handle this message, or handling it is disabled.
I have a demo version of Zebra2 which I have used to play back polyphonic phrases. I haven't experienced any hanging notes when I stopped playback. The Panic (Esc) button always muted the plug-in. If you have a small composition file that helps to reproduce this behaviour, please send it to me, as well as the version number of Zebra that you use.

v3.1beta14 is available!

Improvements:

Midi Import improvements: File and selected tracks info
Midi Import improvements: "Trim silence" will remove empty beats from the beginning and end
The original MIDI channel is restored with the track template when it was not saved with an "Auto Assigned" channel
Fixed a hidden bug in chord detection
Fixed: MIDI Channel was reassigned after preset selection
Fixed: using multiple instances of a multitimbral VST plug-in had problems
Fixed: changing the channel in the track inspector immediately changes the MIDI In (external MIDI keyboard) channel
"Remove Shortest Note At Identical Position" option added to "Remove Short Notes"
Other small fixes

quick test :
patch change in Track inspector doesn't change the track channel anymore,
but dragging patches from the Instrument Browser still changes channel to the next unused one.

Yes, true. I made notes during uploading because I realized I forgot to try this. That is the first thing to be fixed tomorrow morning.

No wonder, lulukom... I forgot to update a file on OS X.
I re-uploaded the OS X installer, which will include this feature.
I make lots of mistakes recently because I feel overwhelmed.

please check the Support page, it should state "Built Sep 12 2016". If you see "Sep 11" please download it again from the same URL.
