I know most preset packs have a sound or two, but I don't know if anyone solely reproduces others' patches.
Personally I love to practice my sound design-skills like this. It's a satisfactionary feeling when you manage to get a patch to sound exactly like, example, the lead in your favorite song, even if that sometimes takes some of the mythicality and magic of the song away. But that's what happens when you practice playing a song you like anyway.
